anyone use an ADCO 25XX windshield cover for bugs?

my wipers are under on my chev- they recess into a plastic well at the base of the windscreen.
the adco stays in place

I have the 25XX series ADCO on my Sprinter. Great for light, heat and privacy, but the mesh size will not stop no-see-ums. It may stop most flying insects, but not crawling insects. Too loose a fit. I'm sure it can be modified, but unless you change the mesh no-see-ums will come right in.

When I had my Class C I would put the wipers on the outside. It helped keep the wind from lifting that edge but they will stain the cover black and they are exposed to UV. In AZ, I have to buy new wipers every year anyway so that last part was no big deal

in the meantime, the inside edge of the door frame is lined in 1" hook velcro.

the outside edge of the awning over the door has 2" loop velcro

a $5 bug screen ( these appear to be made out of a paper cloth) with a center magnetic closure is hung off the awning ( when closed) and hangs down in front of the side cargo door.
with finger pressure, push the edges of the screening against 1" hook velcro and that will hold the screen close to the frame.

so far this is working ok- a stuff breeze and it could be a mess.


a 2nd $5 kit is cut to cover the door windows- the magnetic closure is in the center, this allows pass through of small items when parked...I can reach in to grab a book off the dash for instance.

this was just cut to overlap the window opening by about 2" and small magnets were taped around the edge.

seems to be ok.

all this stuff fits in a seat back pocket.

costs are finalized at about $17...we already had the tape and velcro ( heavy stuff I use at work)

I have something which fits similar to that...it is a "universal fit" solar powered fan- it is about 20 years old...put it in the gap and roll the window up on it
Works pretty good.

My problem is that I am cheep- i can't see spending the kind of money they want for that window vent.

I spent a couple of hours today modifying and fitting a $5 "as seen on tv" magnetic screen for the side door.

I am considering these Window Vent for use under an ADCO type shade. I hate bugs.

I don't know if they have one that would fit your RV and ADCO doesn't make a shade for my Promaster.

My 2409 does fit fairly tightly, but anything could crawl up underneath it I suppose.

The fit may be tighter on the chev version than the ford.

I've been looking at petticoat cloth and magnets to screen out bugs- I've seen a couple of "skeeter" screen kits online, but the cost is silly esp compared to the adco 2509.

I have This one on my Class C, 4 years and I like it,the roll down sections let light and air in when needed.Just roll the windows down and the mesh lets in the breeze.

I have never had any problems with bugs getting in thru the mesh.
