backup cam

I have a class C Gulfstream 28foot. Who has a backup camera that works good and didn't break the bank? Thanks:@

we have used this Rear View Safety RVS-770613 for 3 years now and it is FLAWLESS
made a small adapter, and attached the display directly to the rear view mirror
mount (but now I cannot see my wife making sandwiches as we drive.. j/k)

1 Camera and (3 input) Display $220 on Amazon

also, I have purchased, but not yet installed, an additional camera and an
umbilical setup for between the rv and the horse trailer, so we can mount it to
    see what is waaay behind

    Umbilical setup $90 on Amazon

    Extra Camera $100 on Amazon

I'm a professional nerd, and I agree that Wired Beats Wireless every time. Whether it's a backup camera or a laptop. :)

But the sheer installation advantages of wireless were too big to ignore - so I tried it. Is the picture crisp? Mostly. Is it always perfect? Nope, not always. Is it good enough? For me, yes.

I really didn't want to fish wires on my motorhome.
  • does the camping world rep have an rv? lots of folks on here with rv's including myself have a wireless b/u cam they got off ebay or from costco or sam's club.

got mine off ebay and the rearview mirror with monitor for less than $40.00. tapped into 12v on a light fixture for each end and put an LED remote control switch on the camera power feed. turn on the monitor, turn on the camera back up and turn it off. i use it to check the bikes on the rack once in a while as we roll but its not a rearview cam.

but its your rig you can do what you want

I ordered one on E-Bay. There are many to choose from. I did not get the least expensive wireless one, but close to it. It was easy to install and works great.

    This is what I did.

  • If you have an unobstructed sight line between the inside rear view mirror and a back window, I'd suggest getting a stick-on rear window fresnel lens. They're not nearly as good as a quality backup camera, but is very handy none the less and the price and ease of installation cannot be beat (and there's no electrical connections, etc. to give trouble).
