Backup/sideview camera

I have a Voyager camera system (2010 Newmar Baystar) and works fine during the daytime hours when headlight switch is off...however when I turn the headlight switch on for night time driving or low visibility during day time the right camera view comes on and stays on and none of the selectors respond....when I activate the left turn signal the camera view blinks. Then goes back to right view when I turn the signal off....as I said earlier, the camera works great as long as I don't have the headlight switch on. Anyone had this happen and if so is it an easy fix? Thanks for any info.

Thank you Steve.......problem was a park light out.....replaced it and several weeks later noticed the same problem and discovered rght park light out.....hope it was just a coincidence and not an electrical problem......I had contacted the tech at Voyager and he said he never thought of a light out being the issue.....go figure.....anyway thanks for your advise....

Hope you have the problem fixed, but if not, here is a place to start. The Voyager monitor has three wires used to automatically switch the camera displayed on the monitor. One wire goes to the backup light circuit; when you shift to reverse, the rear camera is shown. One wire goes to a left turn signal; when you signal a left turn, the left camera is displayed. The third wire goes to the right turn signal.

From your description of the problem, the right turn wire is connected to one of the running lights instead of a turn signal light. Or maybe the ground isn't connected to a dual filament running/turn signal light.

Check to make sure all of your side and rear lights are working correctly. If one isn't working right, get it fixed. That may solve the camera problem.

Good luck.
