Class A Generator Repair - Sacramento, CA Area

I have been looking for a reliable company in the sacramento, ca area that does generator repair. None of the local RV repair places (Yuba City) do their own generator repairs and refer me to Holley Generator in Rancho Cordova. Unfortunately, Holley has a five month waiting period. Does anyone have a good recommendation ? Thanks much for any assistance.

  • I have the same model.

When changing the oil and filter it is difficult to get up inside where the oil filter goes. You have to get a certain smaller oil filter socket and use that to remove and install the new one.

You also have to install a new rubber gasket. I'd try removing the oil filter and putting a new filter and new rubber gasket in.

That's all based on if it is the filter leaking.

Can you see where it is leaking from?

Five month waiting list???? Holy Cow!

What make and model generator do you have?

What is it doing or not doing? We might be able to offer some suggestions.

It is an Onan 5500. It is leaking oil. I suspected it from a stain it left on the pavement. I checked the dip stick and it doesn't even register any oil.

Have you called Cummins/Onan in Sacremento area

Yes, but they haven't returned my call.
  • We are lucky to have a genuine Cummins Onan service center in ABQ, always see Class A rigs having their gennies worked on. They even allow overnight parking should it take more time than expected.
