I think that you can find something between $5K and $10K that will be decent, though it may have high miles. Still, if you take care of it, that should not be a problem. You can find out how to fix anything on the internet! I have a 2006 and have had to fix stuff, too. RVs always need some kind of work, it seems. It will be wise to keep aside an emergency fund in case you have a large repair - but that should be the case for any RVer.
Chris has spent months living in his van and even had his girlfriend traveling with him - and they got on quite well. Good luck!
