Coach to chassis bolts

On my class C there are quite a few bolts holding the coach floor to the E450 frame. On the Lazy Daze owners group, there is a recommendation to snug up these bolts occasionally. I recently did-required half, three quarters turn on each of them. As others reported it made the ride quieter-tightened up some low frequency harmonics which were occurring at higher speeds. Not night and day but noticeable.

I don't know how other class Cs are constructed, but if you have similar coach to frame bolts they could be worth checking. Just a general feeling of being tighter quieter ride.

Thanks, another thing to crawl under my MH to check! :)

When I replaced the carpet with thick vinyl tiles, there were at least 6-8 large carriage bolt heads holding the floor down, but didn't do anything with them other than grind the head down about 50% (so the tiles would fit over them better); I'll crawl underneath and give them all a "touch-up" clockwise turn. Thanks for the idea!
  • No way to get at bolts that fasten floor to floor frame on my MH. All screws are self drilling/tapping from inside. But I did make sure they were tight when I installed new flooring a few years ago.
  • Out of curiosity - are they accessible from underneath? Do you climb under the frame and look up?
