Dextron 3

I'm 90% sure about this but I want to be certain.In the rear engine compartment, there's a reservoir that I believe to be for the transmission. It says,"hydraulic reservoir.Fluid Only. Dextron3 or equivalent." This is what Car Quest said took the place of original.

Yes, very likely. Again, Freightliner can tell you per your VIN.

But that would NOT be added to the transmission via that reservoir.

Better not be in his HYD reservoir. Dexron 3 or nothing

IT is the Hydraulic reservoir- Manual also calls for the fluid to be changed. My Freightliner XCS chassis shows 24 month interval. Interval does vary and some power steering/fan systems have a filter in the hydraulic line -also with a change interval...

No, there is no external reservoir for the transmission.

That is for your Power Steering system.

If in doubt, check with Freightliner who build your chassis.

We have a large vertical tank, in rear compartment near engine. It uses trans fluid. It is for the jacks. Reminds me, it probably would be a good idea to change it.

X2 on the power steering and or hydraulic fan. Need to know what make of coach you have to get a better idea, thay are not all the same. Mine uses Dextron3 for the fan and steering.

Yes that will work.I doubt it is for the transmission more likely reservoir is for power steering or hydraulic fan .
