Our dump hose won't reach. We would have to get off the paved pad to make it work and we are worried we would get stuck. We have a Roadtrek Sprinter

The maintenance crew told us we could back onto the grass with no problem, so that is what we did. Hope we never have that issue again. Thanks for the info.

IF it is a Shurflo macerator with a 1" outlet it can pump a max head of 30'....flow will be diminished at that height but it can/will pump without problems.

What does that mean........you can add another length of 1" hose without worrying it will harm pump/motor. Especially when pumping to a sewer inlet.

FloJet have similar capabilities.
I've used my FloJet to pump via 1" hose over 75' with a 2' incline.
Is it time for your medication or mine?

My Trek came with a 10' hose. Plenty for any place we've been.

Check with your RT dealer... I'm sure they have macerator pump extension hoses.

Of course, storage is going to be an issue, so one thing I'd consider doing is putting some bleach water in the grey tank after a dump and running that through. Doing that should stop any bugs from growing inside, making it easier to store out of the way when not needed.

The macerator hose should stretch to 20 feet or so. But, why not just go to another dump site where the hose reaches?

I've never experienced this issue. Have always had more than enough hose length. I believe the macerator wouldn't have any trouble pumping through extra hose length, but where would you store it. I don't think the storage area would accommodate much more, if any, than the hose length the Roadtrek comes with.

Tanya6520,

You didn't mention it in your post, and I don't think everyone realized that you have a macerator, not a 3 inch hose.

I don't know about macerators, but those who have them might have tried extending the hose?

Would the pump handle the additional length?

Buy another piece of hose and a connector to make it longer! :W

But a Rhino Sewer hose and make it even easier to connect two pieces of hose when needed.
