I have a 2000 Tiffin Zephyr diesel pusher. It has a gas furnace which works great. Is there supposed to be a filter somewhere in the coach that requires changing? Thanks, Phil

My American Eagle definitely has a furnace filter....however I think American Coaches are different from most manufacturers in this regard.

FWIW, on our rig it is located in a compartment beneath the Splendide Washer/Dryer.

Some RV Mfgs do have 'air filters' in return passages BUT neither Atwood or Suburban recommend them nor do they provide them for their furnaces.

RETURN AIR
The return air passage should be clean and clear of obstructions and meet the minimum square inches as specified in the installation instructions.
Make sure combustibles are not stored in the furnace compartment. Filters are not recommended at these air passages

Take it up with American Coach.

Furnaces are Suburban and work very well with good warm air flow into the coach.

Actually the 'air' for furnace just like A/C Unit comes from within the RV so it is recycled.

Combustion air is pulled from outside and is exhausted back outside but the room air is recycled across heat exchanger

No furnace filter that I've ever seen or heard of on any RV furnace.

RV gas furnaces move a lot of air because the heat exchanger is small and gets quite hot. For this reason, I believe, it has been taboo to restrict air flow over the heat exchanger, which a filter would do. Especially since most folks wouldn't keep it clean.

RV furnaces do not use a air filter.

Not a motorhome guy... but none of the RV's we have owned over the years had a furnace filter.
