Gap in window trim?

I small gaps in the exterior window trim. I was told the trim/seal shrinks over time, but is this an issue? Is this a warranty item (ie, they should send me trim that fits) or is it something to live with? My concern obviously is potential for water intrusion. In addition to the ones pictured below, I have a third one on the bottom of the dinette window. Thanks.

If that strip always shrinks a bunch, how about just using some ALEX sealant and painting it black to match?

Cool, thanks. I may try to get a spare piece and attempt to cut a plug to fill the gap.

It hasn't stopped shrinking. You will have another gap between the original strip and the plug.

If it is going to drive you crazy, remove the whole thing, soak it in hot water, stretch it out and reinsert.

Happens all the time. The only problem with it is aesthetics. It will otherwise cause no issues, You can replace it and it will shrink again over time.

I believe what you are referring to is a rv window glazing bead. I had bead shrinkage in 2 RVs and manually pulled the rubber bead from the frame (no...the glass window did not fall out but I used duct tape in the top corners just in case) and re-installed the bead with the gap at the bottom center and then used black silicone sealant to cover the gap. Yes...silicone sealant. This is probably the only place I would use silicone on a RV. You can also purchase new beading from the link below if your bead has become brittle. Good Luck
