Going from short class A to long(ish) class A

PIcking up my new 36' MH tomorrow. Been driving a 27' Class A for the past year and a half. Have had no troubles with it including towing a jeep 4 down.

I'm assuming my turns will be a little wider, but other than that should be more or less the same yeah?

Or is there something I need to be even more careful with?

Just did the 27' to a 35' dp and I also drive my dads 32' gasser. Steering radius will be your biggest change and you will notice it. The rest should hardly be noticeable.

yeah getting gas is going to be the biggest change I'll have to cope with. My 27' could wheel into anything. Now I'll have to make sure there is easy entry and easy exit.

I am nervous about that a little bit.

Tail swing will be different, turning a traffic lights and around fuel pumps you will have to allow room.

It's gassers.

width is the same. 70 more inches on wheel base in the new one and 9 more inches in height.

Thanks for the input.

IMHO, you should be OK just allow a little more room for length!

Just drive the front end down the road. The rest of it will follow along, regardless of the length.

Depends on what the new MH is. Gasser, DP, wheelbase length, degree wheel cut, etc. When you test drove it, did it seem much different? You are talking about almost 10 more feet, but the width and wheelbase and wheel cut will really affect the way it drives, especially tight turning. I have to imagine give the number of 36'+ MH's out there, you'll figure it out just fine.

Depends if you are going from a narrow 96" coach to the wide body 102" coach. Height may change also. The axle will be farther behind so allow more room to clear obstacles.

Unless your former coach was you daily driver doubt you'll notice the difference. But if your muscle memory is better than mine just watch the sharp turns in a CG particularly if there's a tree of other such object that will take a chunk out of the side of your coach. Trail swing also. Take your time and use your mirrors.
