Great visit to Advanced RV in Ohio !

We were lucky enough to visit Cleveland during the NBA finals (you know, Lebron and the few last men standing, against this year's powerhouse Warriors). A place of great excitement, and optimism. After we visited my Mother-in-law in Willoughby, we drove less than a mile to a beautifully manicured business park, where I knew Advanced RV was located. We had met Mike and Marcia at the Class B Rally in May, and hoped to visit their business next time we went back to Willowick, town where my wife grew up.

Our luck was high, Mike was in, extremely gracious about our drop-in, and he gave us a tour. Extremely impressive! Beautiful work shop, garage, offices, everything. I wish we could keep just our living room that orderly. I would have eaten off of any surface in the whole place! Anyway, this set-up just made me proud of American business, and hats off to Mike and Company. We saw several Mercedes vehicles in various states of conversion, some very cool features, some specialty requests being fulfilled, and got a good sense of how Class B RV conversions come together from the start. The work shop had premium materials, equipment, and layout. This was a place of true innovation and professionalism, and all in a suburb of Cleveland. I just really care for American business craftsmenship (hey, I like Canadian too, I drive a Brampton Challenger). And Advanced RV's set up in Willoughby blew us away. Our 22 year old son is not into RV's but came away quite impressed as well.

If anyone enjoys great business set ups like we do, and gets a chance to visit Advanced RV during an open house or similar, take the opportunity! We're running a 19 year old Class B while putting the kids through college, but the state of the art modern Class B's sure are making the retirement years and luxury travel look good to us! We are definitely going to have Advanced RV high on our consideration list as we save in our RV fund. I know some of you have been discussing the latest premium Class B models for a while, but this is all fairly new to us, and as newbies, the technology is extremely impressive!
  • Wow, $180k? They can afford to be VERY nice at those prices!
  • Boy, I talked to Mike the other day. These things are now starting at $180k!! Very nice but waaaay over my price range.
  • JUSTJOHN, I've kept a long running message thread blog about Advancing Alvar on the ClassBForum.com message board. It starts with our decision to build and goes through 8 months of that process, then our first 100 days on the road coast to coast, and now subjects as they come up as we discover things about our B.

On Facebook, there is the "B"in an Advanced RV group with experiences by many ARV owners.
  • 401nailhead;Davydd;shearwater...

I want to also add my feelings about Advanced RV and Mike Neundorfer to yours....

I cannot believe there is a better, more advanced or forward business than Advanced RV. Mike has taken this Class B RV called the Ocean and the Ocean One to a new lever unmatched by any other Class of manufacturers in the industry including the infamous Prevost and Newell D/P's. I plan to go up to Ohio in September and see the new area Mike has moved the building of these unique and elegant models to.

I know Davydd has had Advanced RV build his to a level far beyond what anyone of us can imagine and I would love to see pictures of his unit.

I can only tell you Shearwater, you cannot find a better unit then the Ocean one and better people to build your next coach.
  • We are in the process of looking for a custom B to replace our 2006 Sportsmobile Sprinter. My visit to Advanced RV convinced me that their products are superb - the best on the market. They use the best materials, cabinetry, and technology available. Their prices reflect this.
  • 401nailhead, Advanced RV is definitely a clean shop. You ought to be there at 5:00 PM at the end of the work day when they get out tooth brushes and clean all the crevices. ;)

I'm a confirmed Class B owner. It finally came down to I would not RV at all unless in a camper van. I felt I made a great initial choice in 2005 and followed up with a second B in 2011 fulfilling not deficiencies as much as wanting to instill things I learned and desired. In 2015 my B experience and yearnings were growing and there were again additional things I wanted. Advanced RV was the only company that could make that happen for me and meet my expectations.
