Gulf Stream BT Cruiser

I am looking at a 2005 Gulf Stream BT Cruiser. It is the 26' with 2 slides. The PO went crazy with the clear silicone and sealed up every nook and cranny on the body seams even though I can find no evidence of leaking anywhere. Can this be scraped off? I know silicone leaves a residue that nothing will stick to so is it possible to remove the silicone and its residue?

The unit is very nice otherwise but the fact that he did this worries me. Am I being paranoid? This is on a dealer lot so I have no access to PO.

I'd also appreciate feedback on these units. It appears to be the right size for the 2 of us and the beagle and yet has everything else we wanted. Thanks!
I am NOT a mechanic although I do play one in my garage!

yes you can scrape the silicone off but it is very time consuming.

We looked at about the same unit, test drove, and liked it a lot. The deal killer was some obvious carpet staining from leaks.

I would be very skeptical.
