- frankdampExplorerThere's one with Alaska plates that visits a house a few blocks from ours. I think the original had a turbo-charged 6-cy;inder BMW diesel engine, rear mounted and driving the back wheels. It's a bit on the small side for a family, but I think one would be a good deal for a couple.
Based on overall length, it's probably one of those rigs wher you have to assemble the bed after dinner and take it apart again before breakfast, which is why we went for a rig with a permanet bedroom! - J-RoosterExplorerI don't think anyone would want to do this (fun fact) Vixen and Chinook were two RV's billed to go over 100 MPH. Chinook RV (from Yakima WA.) holds the RV land speed record at Bonneville Salt Flats in UT driving over 100 MPH.

Vixen's are a neat coach. You could get one with either a BMW diesel or the Buick V-6. I have only seen 2 in all my travels. If I could find one at a decent price, I would buy it.
$21,000 OBO isn't decent???????????

- Executive45Explorer IIIThere was one at the Orlando Florida Thousand Trails park last July. Beautiful little coach...a bit ahead of it's time....like the Studebaker.....:W....Dennis

I sold a BMW Vixen (blown engine) to a place in Iowa a few years ago. They had some of the original body molds from the MI manufacturer.
Seems like there were a couple power trains used, last was a 3800 GM V-6 with a 440T-4 transmission, mounted in back of course. Maybe this MT outfit took over from the guys in IA. - BumpyroadExploreryep, IIRC Beckley's in Frederick Md carried them.
bumpy - Driftwood132ExplorerSome really good information out there on utube and other places even a web sight on them. I'd never heard of them till I saw the one on the Atlanta Craigslist.
