I'd have it recored here in Ontario. Probably like new and same size and shape. No exchange to worry about.
If you order new (or possibly used) from the US, you may also have to pay duty, taxes and shipping fees. Depending on how it is shipped, you may also pay brokerage fees.
It is probably best to check with Canada Customs to see what if any charges would be incurred. i.e a couple of years ago, I ordered the bathroom skylight cover, from a Winnebago dealer, value $100us ,also had to pay about $25 shipping and another $90 in brokerage fees, that included duty, sales tax, UPS fees and 13%HST. Total cost was about $215 for an item that would have cost someone in the US about 90.(free shipping to US0
