So, yesterday, we bought a nice 1996 Roadtrek 190 Popular!! Then spent 5 hours transferring our gear from our Trailer into it!!. We're still working on finding the special nooks for a lot of stuff. I think this is a good time to cull a lot of it (but it's been with us for years........you just never know when you might need it!!:)) Today, i'll be going over the systems with the various manuals to get acquainted, but don't anticipate any problems, although we had the air on yesterday & it was only blowing out coolish air, not very cold. Overall, this unit seems in great shape & we are happy, which is the main thing. I'll post some pics later, when i've taken some. Gary

I found that organizing when traveling is fun. I have reorganized my RVan 6 times and found more and more room for things oddly enough. Maybe RV parks need a place for people to leave those things they dont want anymore, let people find things they may need!

That's great! It's very satisfying to find ways to stow in a small space with lots of ingenious solutions, and liberating to see how little "stuff" you need for even long trips. Enjoy your new-to-you B!

I also found it a challenge to find unique solutions to things you'd like to take, but don't really want to use the room for such occasional items, i.e. charcoal starter/chimney for dutch oven cooking. Solution: looking into building a folding charcoal chimney. The challenges are limitless. That's one of the great things about this forum is sharing info and sparking ideas.

No idea what traveling in one of those is like compared to a bigger trailer but it seems like a neat thing.

We transferred to a RT Popular 210 from a 30 ft. 5-er. Holy Moses... 5 pickup beds of "stuff". Most was left on the Kitchen table.

Reading other post I have heard the term "Taking Justin Case with us" (just in case). I always laugh at that comment because "I understand it".

We have learned that we can live with less "Stuff".

GaryKH, Welcome and Happy Rving. We bought a Gearspace 34 cargo carrier for our Pleasure Way Plateau TS as we too needed more space for things when going away for more than a day or two. It is quite large on the back and there are smaller units. We put about 100 lbs into it, mainly chairs, and other gear such as our outdoor campstove which I like as we cook and eat outdoors a lot. Roof top carriers are a pain but some people use them.

We have abandoned good but unneeded stuff in the laundry room of CG's with a "free" note on them. They always disappeared quickly.

Full disclosure: I once left some hideous Christmas decorations a relative had given us on a sheltered table at a rest stop. Figured maybe they made the day for somebody with different taste in decor. :B

Well, we have most of the stuff put away, subject to final maneuvering. Now we need to find some comfy roll-up/fold-up chairs, for behind the drivers seat. Also, we have a portable 120W folding solar panel setup, that will always be in the way in the aisle. Thinking of mounting it permanently on the roof, but unsure of how to keep them clean (getting dirty would really decrease the output!). Any ideas?

Yes! I do that before every trip, altho we dont take much in the little 17 footer.

That is the solution we came to. So I got one hitch mounted bicycle rack for 4 bikes. We take 2 and the rest is used for DHs tenting equipment (he likes his tent!). We got a nifty cargo bag that holds a lot.

I think I need to take everything out of our van, go through it and re-pack! It's been a while since we did an overhaul!

If you do have to take stuff, there are always hitch mounted cargo racks, perhaps even enclosed cargo trailers from just something that weighs less than a hundred pounds to carry bicycles and stuff to a large enclosed motorcycle trailer.
