Holiday Rambler or Fleetwood

Both are 2007 and almost same price.
HR Ambassador SKT,RR8R chassis,Cummins 330 isc,glass roof,steel cage cockpit(I like that)
Fleetwood Revolution Le Spartan chassis,400 C9 Cat,1-1/2 bath,glass roof.

Thoughts? We like all in one baths no walk throughs.

Well, I've had a Monaco diesel and a 2005 Revolution LE. In my humble biased opinion, I would take the Revolution hands down. Although it may have laminated walls, if you look into the details of the construction and the way things are assembled and connected, you'll soon see that the Revolution LE is the better of the two. In addition I like the side radiator of the Revolution vs. the rear radiator.

There is always this back and forth about the Roadmaster chassis vs. a Spartan chassis. They definitely ride and handle differently. Drive one and see which YOU prefer. My preference is for the Spartan. I found the Roadmaster to be a little harsh for my taste. In addition it has considerably more unsprung weight which tends to add to its harshness. As a side note, it is interesting that the new 2015 Dynasty is being built on the "new Roadmaster chassis" which is identical to the Fleetwood Liberty chassis.

I would not worry about the engine choice. I always said I would not choose the coach by the color of the engine. I had had 3 Cummins engines before the CAT in the Revolution. Personally I couldn't see much difference. The C9 is a very good engine. We drove ours over 95,000 miles before trading it on a new coach this spring and it did VERY well for us.

As others have said, drive one, think about living in one, and pick the one that fits you best!

The Rev LE is a much higher level coach chassis than a regular Rev. The LE was built on a Spartan Liberty chassis, much stronger than a regular Spartan or Frieghtliner.
Do research on the LE chassis before you buy. You will be pleased.

We have a Fleetwood and love it. All the other options here are just like mine options, we all love the coach we have so I won't try and tell you this one is better than that one. I don't think anyone can unless they have own both of the coaches in question. We can tell you ours is a good stable ride. Good luck go with what you are comfortable with.

In that year range, ambassador (and my knight) were "mid-range" coaches.
They were identical to Endeavor / Diplomat except for the engine (360hp isc vs 400 hp isl.) All were rear radiator.
I cannot say enough good things about the 8 bag roadmaster chassis.

I'm a big fan of the HR construction vs the Fleetwoods (hung wall vs laminate) and 99 times out of 100 I'd the HR. This case might be the 1 time I'd say Fleetwood. The engine difference alone would make me look hard at the Fleetwood.

Having said that, look close. The Fleetwood is laminate construction, and things that are laminated tend to delaminate over time. That simply can't happen with the HR. The other thing is take a good look at how things are screwed together. That MY was juust before the big crash and some companies were feeling the pressure. Being '07's you should be good with both, but take a look.

2 good choices, but if all else was equal I could hear 400 HP calling my name.

We like both floor plans. I think we are kinda leaning towards the Revolution.

If it were me, I would go with the one with best floor plan that works for you. The bath and a half is a plus. It might be that the HR doesn't have the Particulate Filter which started on some 2007 models (DEF came out in 2010 coaches). The extra HP in the Fleetwood does sound enticing.

Our 2008 has the Particulate Filter and we've had zero problems with it in 7 yrs. and 65,000 miles. Our new coach will have DEF.... I like clean air.

Never owned a HR although have seen many very nice ones. Even in older age still look very impressive. We have owned two Spartan Chassis and have not had any trouble with either. One with independent front suspension and one without and I seriously can not tell the difference driving but loss of wheel cut is noticed in some instances. I have made choices when Spartan was not available but that is just the way I think. Drive both and decide. Larry

The Spartan LE chassis was one of the strongest ever made. If you look up NADA original and now, I think the Revolution is higher in both cases. Having said that, we were all set to buy an Ambassador until we saw our Revolution. It is ALL about condition.
By the way, we love our Revolution, so we are biased...

Spartan is better than a "Freightshaker" but the 8 bag Roadmaster is the better of these 2.

Im a Fleetwood man thru and thru and I always prefer larger engines...but with your specs....Id go the HR with the 330 hp Cummins
presently.....Coachless!...
