How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

I'm new here, and curious.

How many of us in Class C own Dodge B300 incomplete
cab/chassis based RV's? I know two others- Steve aka
Ripsaw, with a 1977 Brougham, and Leroy aka 1978_Dodge
_Delta who owns a 440V8 powered sharp looking 1978
Delta RV. I would like to ask, and offer, help, idea
swapping and comparing notes on our particular RV's
which are based on the Dodge B300 van chassis.

Yeah, I know. These are low tech, podgy old RV's that
would be considered "entry level" for folks like me,
but I have a deep and abiding respect for the quality
of these old "monsters of the open road". And anyone
wanting to pick brains, joke about, share notes or just
brag about our old A- Dodge-io's are certainly welcome
to PM or email me. Between all of us we can form a real
good support group, and help each other with problems
we know we'll encounter with an older vehicle.

Sure. I'd love a new RV. But I'd rather have an older
one already paid for, and a lotta great memories. Call
me frugal, an old hippie, or whatever you will. I'm proud
of my old land yacht.

Mopar Madness Manifest in the flesh,

Mark aka White Knight

P.S. Mine's a '72. Is there an older one out there someone's
motorvating in? Maybe even a Travco? W/K

But, and this from experience, find out about the wheels!
You are going to need 1-pc wheels. 17.5 will fit, 19.5 will not.
No, you can't add adapters or i would have.

Trish,

In the photos these are six lug wheels, will get size.
Don't know if that helps...

Trish,

No for now but I don't know what will happen- I contacted a person
who was listing a 1966 Travco 28' at the discussion board.
Got pic's back, it's a real peach- will need some work but I LIKE it!!
Shreveport isn't that much of a stretch from Tulsa too...

I'll keep you posted. Thanks- you're awesome!

And the window seals are a bugger to find.
Ditto for the windshields, they are $1000. Each.

There's a Clipper about 35 miles from me.
It needs work, exterior is what you'd expect from Ohio winters, but appears all there.
Y/N?

Yep- a few 360's in the early 70's, a few Chev 400's in the later 70's and the rest were 440's. Shells are solid and a pleasure to work on/ restore/mod. They are happiest in the 55 mph territory, so those in the 'life is a journey to be savored' camp are most rewarded by these old beauties. Not too many are seen east of the divide, but one 78 21' does grace my property.

I'd love to see some pix of your Clipper. Got any to put up here?

Thanks Eyeteeth, I'm thinking about finding one that I can do some
work on. There's a 1966 model I'm gonna check out, in Louisiana.
Wish I could afford one already restored- that would be a dream...

A PK. Now it is all explained....

Yup. Hated by fathers, feared by mothers, adored by... ahem... just
kidding...

Seriously, though. Who cares if you drop in a Cummins 6BT with A518 tranny? They come stock in Dodge trucks now (and have since forever). And were options on some vans for a while, too. What's the big deal?

I think it's a perfect fit, personally. All the torque you'd ever want, plus decent cruise, all with better-than-gas fuel mileage.

It's a no-brainer to me.

I'd like to do something like that. With a vegoil system to switch over to when up to temp, and on the highway. Just one of those little things you don't brag about... you just sit there and listen sympathetically to others griping about the cost of fuel, and empathize... to a degree...lol

Oh, god...now there's a job description. I think that's the first time I've ever been called that... ๐Ÿ˜„

Serves you right for being the wonderful girl you is, sunshine...
If it weren't for you, Trish, and several other folks in here, this thread would go straight to Hades in a handbasket. I KNOW that. Credit where credit is due. I owe a LOT to you. And I don't forget it.

If you want to look at more of my project, Mark, check it out here.
