How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

I'm new here, and curious.

How many of us in Class C own Dodge B300 incomplete
cab/chassis based RV's? I know two others- Steve aka
Ripsaw, with a 1977 Brougham, and Leroy aka 1978_Dodge
_Delta who owns a 440V8 powered sharp looking 1978
Delta RV. I would like to ask, and offer, help, idea
swapping and comparing notes on our particular RV's
which are based on the Dodge B300 van chassis.

Yeah, I know. These are low tech, podgy old RV's that
would be considered "entry level" for folks like me,
but I have a deep and abiding respect for the quality
of these old "monsters of the open road". And anyone
wanting to pick brains, joke about, share notes or just
brag about our old A- Dodge-io's are certainly welcome
to PM or email me. Between all of us we can form a real
good support group, and help each other with problems
we know we'll encounter with an older vehicle.

Sure. I'd love a new RV. But I'd rather have an older
one already paid for, and a lotta great memories. Call
me frugal, an old hippie, or whatever you will. I'm proud
of my old land yacht.

Mark aka White Knight

P.S. Mine's a '72. Is there an older one out there someone's
motorvating in? Maybe even a Travco? W/K

My neighbor asked me why I did not keep the interior the original dark wood and I explained to her that it made the inside look smaller and kept the temp inside hotter.

Now it looks larger inside and it stays cooler as well.

I used to really like to have everything dark, but now I prefer everything to be light and cheery.

Here are some photos of what I have done so far..

Here are the cabinets after I put on the fist coat of primer:

Here are some photos of the primary color as well as the secondary color on the doors and drawers:

Now I get to hurry up and wait. The foam I ordered for the dinette should arrive next week as well as the fabric I ordered so that I can make covers for the foam. Toilet and escape hatch should be in at the end of this week or by next week some time.

I ordered the flooring, but that will be put in last after everything else has been done.

Sorry for the extra "E" Leeann! It's early, and I'm tired! :B

Nothing "recent", but here is a hodge-podge of the Dodge during work, though not quite in order. One of these days I'll set up a specific album just for the rig!

Excellent! I'm glad you had a good time, but it's always good to be home :W

So how 'bout a recent pic of the ol' rig?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Tioga!

Look back several (100) pages to see my re-flooring. It turned out GREAT!

I found on Ebay someone who sells foam..I will be getting custom cut foam pieces for the dinette area as well as a section that will go over the table when that area is made out into a bed. All I will have to do is sew up covers for the foam cushions.

I am going to cheat, and use the foam mattresses that are in the over the cab bunk, just make new covers for them. The foam is not falling apart, so they can be reused.

My son is out there lightly sanding down the surfaces to be painted and I will take the blue tape out and mask off what we do not want painted..

Painting will start later today when it is not so hot outside.

I bookmarked the battery information..I will go out and find out which cap I will need..

Chrome looking wheel covers sounds like a good plan.

I will now go out and drink my coffee in the rig, take pictures of what has been done so far, and then get back to work..

You can put some chrome looking wheel covers on it for around $150 0r so.
That,s what the majority of trucks and motorhomes with shiny happy wheels have on them . Google or search ebay for Dually Simulators or try this link.

Sister Shotgun,

You had better read up on batteries and 12v systems.

The 12v Side of Life

BATTERIES--AND OTHER ELECTRIC STUFF

Both batteries will most likely need to be replaced. Batteries that are not kept charged go bad quickly.

You mean the cap? I think they have replacement parts at RV dealers, Camping World, etc. You do have to know what style the vent is to get the correct replacement cap.
