Issues with new coach

Last summer I traded for a new Winnebago Suncruiser 38Q 2016. It arrived in early November. Had some initial issues and dealer attempted to repair. My dealer was Camping World in Deforest WI-Madison. I so wanted this to be a good experience as I want Camping World to succeed as a big box for RVers. It is also not far from home so very easy to get service. It took two months to figure out why the satellite was not working but they fixed it. The crack in the roof was repaired by a specialist shop and you cannot tell there was a problem. So after two months we departed for our winter wandering. Along the way we discovered the satellite radio did not work and felt a soft spot in the floor. The day we got home the levelers stopped working. So we took it back to have the repairs made. We were in no hurry and so told them if there were people with more urgent needs move them in front of us. After another two months the floor was fixed, the radio replaced, levelers functioning so progress. Problem is that now no power to the satellite operator box or the matrix. In the same area we have power to the DVDs,dvr's etc.I tested outlets and all are hot. I checked every breaker and fuse I could find and no luck. So took it back to Camping World and they will call when ready. Lucky I am still three weeks away from needing it but we are going on three months of service on just this time. Always frustrating when something works when you take it in and doesn't when you get it back. We have used it for 3 months and at dealer for nearly 6 months. Too many small things wrong for a new coach. Not sure whether to fault Winnebago for bad job or blame Camping World for poor techs who can't fix it. I love the coach layout and the new transmission. Just want everything to work. I have had three previous Winnebagos and never this kind of problem. My final complaint. When I picked it up it was filthy inside. They obviously used saw to remove floor to repair the brace and then re tile and it caused a good layer of dust. I had old screws in cup holder and one on floor. Nothing we can't clean but I thought good customer service has someone clean up the mess they make. To me it reflects a lack of pride and customer service. Maybe I expect to much. I would be satisfied if it just all worked. We can clean it.

X-2, Marcus monitors RV.Net at times! Is CW renting out these RV's before people are buying them? It sounds like to me that new RVers not knowing what they are doing are causing a lot of these problems?

People are buying, the factories are making just a bit faster than maybe they should. Tiffin has changed is production line to be able to build more than 12 a day. Hope they can restore quality to what is has been in the past.

CW does not have a Tiffin dealership anyplace. For that matter when they bought a large dealership that sold a lot of Tiffins, Tiffin pulled the contract. Bob wants nothing to do with CW. If more stories about dissatisfied Winnebago purchasers from CW I imagine they too will have a conversation. Winnie has been known for good customer service.

One reason I purchased my 2016 Winnebago Vista 30T was because I thought Winnebago quality was higher than most coach builders. I previously owned a 2011 Vista that had very few problems. However, I have been hearing a surprising number of complaints about Winnebago. For my new coach, we noticed that there were significant gaps in all the seals with the slides extended. My dealer, Roy Robinson RV is Marysville, WA obtained authorization for 9 hours of work to adjust all the slides and satisfactorily repaired them. However, the DVD player coach in motion interlock retracted the jacks every time I wanted to watch a movie. After receiving my complaint Winnebago redesigned this feature for coaches that they were building, but refused to backfit the design change on my coach. It was easier for me to buy an after market DVD player than waste a lot of my time fighting with them. The other issue with my coach is that the transmission tow haul feature does not work. Winnebago did not want to know about this issue. A few of us raised enough visibility on tow haul non-functioning to the point that Ford has issued OASIS Bulletin 3243 for investigation. I know that one of my neighbors had a lot of issues with his new Tiffin Bus last year. It replaced a Tiffin bus. Knowing what I know now, I am happy that I won't be in the market for a new coach anytime soon.

Buy my RV supplies from the local dealer or Amazon There are options and I refuse to support a company that's only concern is profit at the cost of customer service.

Seems to be a lot of Winnie issue threads popping up lately. The Camping World stuff seems to be just another chapter of a never ending bad story.

So sorry you are having so much trouble with your new coach. It seems a common issue these days.

IMO, part of your issue is Camping World. I would never buy an RV from them or use them for repairs. I think if there ever was a company that deserves to fail, Camping World is it.

I'd be heading to the factory in Forest City, IA for repairs or, if not an option for you, call Winnebago and ask for a recommendation for a good dealer in your area other than CW.

They overcharge but so does everyone else. Tractor repairs in Va are $125/hr shop time, parts and even rags are extra. Everyone is getting like hospitals in overcharges, sloppy work and charging to fix their bad repair.

Camping World in Paulsboro, NJ is pretty good....my experience there, however is limited to tires and shocks. (plus, of course, the store things....)

My appointment time was fine....10AM, they pulled my motorhome in a 10:15...new Goodyears (6) and 4 shocks. No problems at all.That happened twice...since 2001. But for repairs? I don't know. My purchase dealer, Indian Valley in Sounderton Pa, their service dept has been excellent for repairs when needed. So....I'll stick with them as I have since buying new there, 2001.

As a sidebar, the tires at Camping World were around $70 cheaper (each) than at a local Goodyear dealer...and they (dates) were 2 months old.

I will never buy from Camping World. This is just another reason why.

Very sorry to hear of your problems. I was beginning to come to the conclusion you have reached. Such a shame. A huge facility with potential. They seem to do a lot of business as there are many vehicles outside and in. Maybe it is a lot of people bringing their vehicles back to redo things. I do have to meet this manager before I quit them.

I have a 2014 Itasca Meridian that had a slide failure first trip out. I took it to the dealership for repair and had it fail again soon after. That was when I decided to take it to the Winnebago factory for any repairs that needed to be done. I have been to the factory 4 times since I bought it. This is my 4th Winnebago and it also is the first one that has needed repairs. The good part is that the factory does a great job on repairs and I'm usually on my way in 2-3 days. When the appointment is for Monday morning at 7am, the repairs are started Monday morning by 7:30am. Yes, it is very frustrating when things constantly need attention but I guess that is part of RV ownership. I hope all your repairs are addressed and you can begin enjoying your new RV. Good luck. You might consider a trip to Forest City for your repairs. They built them and know better than anyone how to repair them. Plus all the parts for repairs are available immediately.
