As I said earlier--the incandescent bulb may be being used for the moisture control.

Hi,

I'm not sure I would use an led in the fridge.

Why? On first glance it is the very best place to replace a high heat incandescent with a low heat LED because it saves the energy required to pump away all that extra heat.

We've had LED bulbs in our stick house fridge for years with no problems. Unfortunately our RV fridge has no light in it.

I put a smartrv products fridge recirc fan in mine, has 2 blue LED lights build in, more even lighting but not as bright, a bit kinder on the eyes when opening in the dark. power splices into the light fixture, took about 15 min to install. Yes, I can hear it from the outside, but the directv system fan is louder.

My fridge light is from 2005. I see little reason to upgrade. It is simply not on very often. I think some condensation units rely on the heat from the bulb which would be missing with an LED.

The cold wont bother them. I used to test common LED's in enviromental chambers at -55c and they worked fine.

a 211 LED lamp should fit. The Dometic lamp has a thicker filament then the standard 211
