LP question.

I bought a 98 HR Endeavor with a center mounted LP tank.

The panel in the bathroom shows the LPG as being full.

The fridge worked on LP for about a week, as did the stovetop. Then everything quit.

Today I climbed under the coach and the gauge on the tank itself isn't reading any gas (as far as I can tell anyway). When I tried the stovetop I heard hissing, but no gas smell and no ignition. After a few tries the hissing went down to almost nothing.

Is it likely just a stuck electric gauge, or are they pretty reliable?

Gas detector light is green,
  • Took it in and the tank was empty, took 27 gallons.

Everything fired right up has worked since.

Thinking I'm just going to leave the gauge broken. Since we use so little LP with that big of a tank we'll only need to fill once or twice a year.

    Thanks.
  • Get tank refilled.....then check monitor and tank gauge readings.

    Then have tank/connections/fittings leak tested.

    What size propane tank....32 gallon?

Mine does that too sense lead is shorted somewhere.. not worth fixing.
  • I would get the tank filled and go from there. That way you know the status of the tank itself. The gauge in the bathroom sorks off the tank gauge.
  • Any gauge can malfunction, even the most reliable ones.
It sounds like something is wrong between the tank and the indoor gauge; an open circuit, a short circuit, a stuck sensor, etc.
You can take it to a qualified service person and have it checked and repaired, or you can just rely on the tank mounted gauge (if it is really working).
Personally, I would want the dang thing to work the way it should.
The repair might be simple and inexpensive, or it could be rather pricey.
    good luck.
