They'd be better off renting an apartment for a few months unless they plan on using the toyhauler for the next few years.
This. A new dually and a tow hauler is a 100K decision.
A used class A is a 25-50K decision on the cheap end.
How long will this house search take?
What is the RV budget? $25K pays a lot of rent.
100K pays even more. What are we missing?
Agreed. After re-reading the initial post, I question too why you would go through the trouble of buying an RV and a truck only to live in it temporarily. Potentially a large investment and if they aren't RV'ers, having to sell it when they find a home. Their cash and/or buying power would also be reduced since they have to buy the RV and trailer. Get an apartment, get to know the area, Save your cash and buying power and then buy a house.
