Need To Know Stuff....

Rookie RVer :C here! There are a lot of “need to know” stuff that would be useful to a Rookie like me. For example, I recently found out when using the stove to ALWAYS, ALWAYS have a window open and the hood fan on. This example would fall under safety “need to know” stuff. Where can I find “need to know” but not just limited to safety? I’m thinking quick tips, don’t forget to, here’s what I do, etc.? Or is this too broad of a question?

there are LOTS of books written by RV'ers offering hints, tips and necessary advice to help "new" RV'ers learn how to get the most out of their travels and camping experiences...

2 or 3 of these will give you a couple days of interesting reading.

there is a lot of good knowledge to be shared, but if you learn etiquette and maintenance, these are two subjects that will help you get along anywhere you go...

OP doesn't specify whether it's a gas stove or electric or diesel or induction. Thus may not need detectors for CO 2 if it's one of the last three.

We have covers over our roof vents. These allow us to leave the vents open all the time. Not fully open, but each about 2 inches. Lids are a great item to prevent moisture build up.

The kitchen wndow, louvered type, is left open about an inch.
Yes, you should have propane detector, carbon monoxide detector and a smoke alarm.
I would suggest adding your rig to your signature or profile. Depending on type of rig be sure to include Tow vehicle or toad.

Do you open the window when you turn the stove on at home? We don't. Sometimes when we want to let out condensation from boiling water but not just because the stove is on.
Safety is the same in a house or an RV.
