For you Nexus owners or potential customers, see the below posted by NEXUS on facebook this morning Been wondering when this would happen as it seems a natural progression of the business.

Dear Nexus RV customers, We are excited to announce we will be partnering with several select dealerships to sell our products. After 7 years of selling our product factory direct, we wanted to give people more opportunity to touch and feel and ultimately buy our products. We will no longer sell our products directly, this change will be happening September 1st, 2017. So, if you would like to experience buying from us you must place your order by August 31st. From that date forward we will be providing our select dealers lead information from their geographical area. We are planning a increase in production to meet the demand of our great products, hopefully we will earn your business. Professionally Claude and Dave

Do you have personal experience? Would love to hear about it.
Thanks

personal opinion, the biggest problem Nexus has is high turnover with its employees in all departments. this is year to year. you never talk/deal with the same people. Wood screws are very small. Air conditioning ducting is very often misaligned across several models even in their Bentleys.

Maybe building more and sending them to dealers will help. 🙂

Seems like a logical move.

As an owner of a Nexus coach the factory direct option is one of the key things that attracted me to their company. But it also doesn't surprise me that that are moving away from it. I think that model can only take you so far and for continued growth of the company they need to go with dealers. It will be very interesting to see what price point the coach's go for. I take it as a positive sign for the company's future. But if you want in on the factory direct option better get that coach ordered before the end of August.

I think reality is setting in, and the direct sales model is not working out. Their website shows they have 36 of those high dollar units in stock, and they have deep discounts on all of them. I would guess they probably have cash flow problems looming, and need to stimulate sales while the RV business is booming. Thus, get some dealers involved to help move them out.

Of course they will. How else would the dealership get paid. Depending on their market prices from dealers will fluctuate also. When Saturn came on the market it was what you see is what you pay. That failed. Carmax is doing the same thing, that's what turned me away from a recent sale. They priced their vehicles at the high end and stood fast, i went elsewhere.
