Not Happy witn new Tiffin

Well this is day 4 of owning a 2018 Tiffin 34 PA, and not at all happy. Tuesday electrical on spyder system failed when we got it home from signing papers Tuesday. Took it back first thing Wednesday morning dealer tech found a couple of problems and tighten and repaired connections.
Brought it home Wednesday afternoon and we started loading for trip next week, and then Thursday morning all electric failed again, anything controlled by spyder system,. Dealer called Red Bay and a tech from Tiffin called me to help .He said he had no idea whats in a 2018 but it I told what system it had he might be able to help.He talked me though and we found faults in control. He was able to tell me how to retract the slides thru control box and told me to take it to dealer. Tech was waiting when I pulled up and saw the fault light, as it was quitting time they pulled it in bays. This morning, no faults, And everything working. They called Tiffin and no help, as no diagrams yet, next they called spyder controls and they were no help and diagrams is not available yet!!!
Dealer trying to get Tiffin to send tech up, they got 14 man hrs and are no closer to finding problem. Tech will work Saturday on it again and hope it faults again. Service manager said they are afraid to let me have it with nothing found!!!

How can a pair of companies not have schematics of their systems.

HIs complaint is not with Tiffin I think but with the dealer.... The Dealer should have requested the not all that inexpensive service manuals with the new unit..

Suggestion to the O/P.. If you continue to have problems Contact Tiffin direct, Bypass the dealer.. You might be very surprised at who comes out to make it right..... So will the dealer....

A short but true story of another company.

MY RV (Chasss maker) Issued a recall. Since my dealer did NOT register the unit with the maker as they promised they would I did not get the letter with the replacement part.. instead I contacted the company and got an E-mail.

So I went to the authorized service center and said "I'd like to bring it in in 2 weeks, get the oil changed, a lube job and do the recall" they told me they could not get the part that fast (Standard Chevy Part, the recall was actually from Chevy/GMC and they were a dealer so they had the part).

I said "Schedule the work I'll get the part"

Called Workhorse talked to a man who's card I still have even though he's no longer there.

Two weeks later I handed them the part..... ASttached to his business card.

Nothing was said but the job was done

Well..... Then it was time for another warranty job

THey found the part and had it FED-EXed overnight.

Oh. The card.... Workhorse National Customer Service manager.. The man who decides **IF** they are an authorised service center or not.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

I still say the guy should have given a 2018 tiffin repair a little more than a couple days after buying to cry this loud;; it looked to me like the dealer and Tiffin got on it right away and it was a supplier issue(electronics) and sometimes this takes bit to figure out; If it was 3 or 6 months later then total different story

But on the bright side we got to see a couple of pictures of Schnauzers.......one even apparently in a Tiffin LOL.

Our sympathy goes to both of you. I was telling Hostage we lost ours at twelve with congestive heart disease. Maybe Bubba, Tiffany and Della are playing on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.


great looking dog I share sympathy with you as Iam still missing our little Tiffany over 18 months later
Tiffany was unique in that her ears were never cropped(would never do that) and both hers stood up tall and proud;; everyone in outdoor resorts loved her ears

It has been eight days since jfskeet posted about his problem and dissatisfaction. I know that he was upset which I understand but it is interesting that we never heard from him again on this issue.
