I have been pining for a Scenicruiser for years and yesterday I got one. #149 is now mine.
It will need a fair amount of work but There are so few of them left that I couldn't walk away. Now I just have to convince the wife that I am not an idiot and still useful.
Could be I just bought my new home. Oh well, could be worse, I could have had the hots for a corvette.

Sorry for the delay, The work on the buss has been slow going cause of a couple of deaths in the family and a whole bunch of work on a new project. We ended up with property that we are getting set up to park our camper or trailer or what ever. Anyhow, the bus has substantial rust damage in the back and I have been SLOWLY working on removing the old rusted out stuff so I can weld back new stuff. I have also started rebuilding the rear suspension but I have to make all the parts cause they are not available any more. I have learned how to pour my own polyurethane bushings, but one piece is still stuck to the buss and I have been reluctant to just cut it off. Hope to have more work done this year, but there never seems to be enough time.

Just as a interesting note, the Google Doodle for today celebrates Raymond Loewy, an industrial designer born 11/5/1893. He was responsible for many well known logos and designs, including the Greyhound Scenicruiser 🙂

Wow, and wow again. I love taking loss cause's on, and bringing them back from the edge. My DW would kill me, if I ever tried to take something on as big as your "Big Blue", as you're doing. With that said I want to congraduate you on having the best DW that a person could ever ask for.It appears from all the posts I've read, that you have a substancial fan base already established.
Wish you GREAT luck, keep us posted with your updates

If you are looking for another one of these busses, i just saw one in Alaska, on the Kenai Peninsula in the town of Anchor Point. It is in a yard on North Fork Road and says" Tin Tent" on the front. Looked to be in nice shape.

It's not the case ANYWHERE. A bus can be retitled as a motorhome. (I've done it twice.)

Your dream came true, wishing you much enjoyment.
Have a question. My friend considered converting a bus about 3 years ago. He was told by the State Police, also someone we know, that in order to drive it the driver would have to have a Class B Comm. driv. Lic. in the state of NJ. He said the bottom line was that no matter what you do to it, it's Vin# say's it's a bus. Is that the case in your state? ...
Anyway, lots of luck with all the work you plan. Hope you get it on the road this summer...
