Opinions on Additional Protections

We are purchasing a Coachmen Galleria 24FL.

We are looking for opinions on purchasing the extended service protection being offered by CornerStone RV which covers several major components of the chassis and coach areas.

And the Platinum Protection system for the paint and interior protection.

Has anyone purchased these and if so, was it worth it?

Thanks!
  • They are merely insurance policies that are so real written that they rarely pay well. The return on your money spent is not likely. Since it is insurance, the question is could you afford to replace the A/C, or repair the refrigerator of you had a problem? IF yes, then skip the insurance, if not then rethink even purchasing a RV.

You only buy insurance to replace what you could not afford to replace yourself if something happened. That is why you buy insurance for your house, but not your toaster.
  • Paint and interior protection is a can of scotch-guard on the inside and a spray wax on the out side.
Extended protection plan is almost as worthless. Put the money in the bank and pay for repairs as needed. You will come out money ahead.
  • I agree with markTwain above .
    Save your money.
I am money ahead for 15 years on my diesel pusher motorhome.

IMHO, Extended Service Protection plans are a waste of your hard earned money! Statistically, the probability of you benfiting is low. Read all the small print and exceptions! Your odds of winning are better at Las Vegas on the **** table:):)
