Our new RT RS Adventurous

Here she is our new 2013 RS Adventurous. Had her less then 42 hrs and had to have it towed in for service:M Started out on a trip and got 10 miles from home when we realized we had forgotten something and headed back home. Started out again, and the engine light came on. Several calls later, and it is being towed to a Mercedes dealer. What a way to start out. Closest dealer is 45 miles away. Could be worst. Just thankful it happened close to home.

Well done with 100K miles.SHould be good for another 1 or 2 100K miles too. GOod servicing helps. My PW Plateau has 60K miles with I-5 and is tougher than my financial adviser...eh?

Thanks Chirpnchicks. Hearing you have 100K on your Rs makes us feel better. We are heading out tomorrow for an overnighter to check it all out. And again on Thursday for a 2 nighter meeting some friends. Worked all day yesterday and today getting things organized. Now to find everything where we stored it ;o)

I was surprised at how many people pulled into the Black Canyon of the Gunnison in CO NPS campground a few days ago. Glad we got in by early afternoon. Seeing Quebecers, Europeans in rentals, and lots of baby boomer retirees this September. The secret is out. Great month to travel after all the kiddos aren't around.

We crossed the 100,000 mile mark on our 06 RT RS last week coming back from Glacier NP. OP, you will do just as well.
BTW,

We are originally from Milwaukee area, and only went to Potawatomi a few times while we lived there. We moved out to the Dells 4 yrs ago. Don't miss the big city at all.

Very good. We got Potawatomi Bingo Casino right here in Milwaukee. We dont gamble but in the winter I drag us over there for the excitement, a drink and a cigarette. LOL

So do a shake out trip up to Door county, or, to Nicolet. Driving it but close to home will increase confidence.

Sure sorry to learn about these Sprinter problems. I am going to be really nice to my old 06 PW Plateau TS which hasnt let me down yet. Well, so far. I pray a lot too. Hope you both get problems resolved quickly.Warrantee should cover both problems including costs for Patty1819 expenses.

Well it's been 5 days and counting that our NEW!!! RS has been held up. They replaced the pressure valve exhaust system, but the engine light was still on. They contacted MB engineers and they are having the CDI control module replaced. None in stock, so waiting for one to be shipped. During my conversation with the service tech, it sounded like the CDI has been a problem in the MB sprinters.

1775 do you know where we can get this code reader or plug? It sounds like something worth investing in. Buying the RS with the MB engine was something we thought long and hard on for this very reason. Chevy dealers are more available across the country. The MB got very high reviews with little issues. There are many sprinters out there. Just our bad luck we have this happen in less then 42 hrs of taking title. It can only get better....right? Without bad luck, we wouldn't have any luck;)

They can be found at any auto parts store - Pep Boys, Advance Auto, any store like that. I bought the two I have - one for the RT and one for the car - at Harbor Freight. They are less expensive and work just as well. Better models have a text readout to explain the code. The less expensive ones include a book with all of the codes and their meanings.

They are OBD2 or OBD II scanners.

The Android or Iphone plug can be found on on Amazon. They work by bluetooth. The prices on the bluetooth ones seem remarkably cheap, so I would look at Amazon reviews for each considered to find one that is reliable.

Just check with Mercedes or the auto store that the Sprinter is OBD 2 compatible. They should be.
