Roadtrek Outdoor Shower

We have an outdoor shower (for the first time). When cleaning up the rig for winter storage we found that there was heavy road grime on the whole apparatus. This is a 2004 Roadtrek 170.

First we want to know if anyone has done a mod to close in the area so road dirt wouldn't get in there. Difficult because that's where the water and electrical connections are.

Second - if not is there a fitting to put on the water outlet to at least keep the opening and the threads clean?

Thanks for your input...
  • ^^ Thanks for that - can't wait to uncover our B and look into the possibilities. :)
  • Maybe you could cover the thing with a plastic bag and elastic bands. Cheap and easy on and off.

  • ^^ Thanks for the idea of the kitchen sprayer - for both - very nice. :)

I just remembered I have an extra shower faucet thing that I can take with me to Lowes or Home Depot to get the correct fittings.
  • I did a slight mod when we had our 190P. I added a couple of adapters and replaced the "shower" with a kitchen sink sprayer. That I just left connected and coiled up in there around the faucets. Seldom used it as a shower, but worked great for sandy feet and muddy dogs, or washing large cooking pots!!! As far as dirt in the area, would simply use the sprayer to hose it down. Actually, following the former mod, Rodger's lead, replaced the interior shower head with a sink sprayer, too. Great water pressure, instant on/off for water savings, better for toilet cleaning, too.
