Anyone have any experience with or own a safari condo b van?
They are making a promaster based b class and it looks really interesting. Designed for dry camping.. solar panels, compressor fridge. Looks really interesting.. Looking for feedback on quality and experience with the company

I have looked into safari condo. you cannot buy a van from them and register in US. they have no us dealers. you can buy a van, register it in US then bring it into canada for them to do conversion.

We tried dealing with them for an Alto trailer to use with our Roadtrek for extra space during longer stays. Between a less than stellar dealer and Safari Condo's poor communication and inflexibility, we spent over a year, only to find out that it would cost 30% more than we were initially indicated. Statements like, "yes, we can leave out the propane system for you" really mean, "we will leave out the propane system, but you still have to pay for it". We didn't find that out until we were nearly ready to order. By the time we got it home to Minnesota, it would have been $40K for a tiny trailer, and we would still have had to upgrade some of the systems to what we wanted.

At least in the Alto, which is a very expensive little trailer, the components are only OK. Single stage converter, low end solar controller, etc. I assume the vans are similarly equipped.

I think the last I read on their old website, just saw the new one, you have to furnish them a US standard van for them to convert if you are from the US.

All in all, we like their products, and the way they do things, but they were very expensive and hard to deal with, so we will look elsewhere.
