You're absolutely right. My PI unit does check the pedestal before supplying power to the RV. If there's a problem, it will display the appropriate error code so I can tell the office what's wrong. I consider ANY outlet suspect until I've tested it.
right, if you buy a good multifunction surge protector it will test the circuit before passing voltage to your RV. the $99 specials won't.
