Shopping at Lazydays?

Has anyone bought a motorhome from Lazydays? I'll be close to the one in Tampa in a couple of weeks and I thought I would see what they can do for me. Good or bad experiences is what I need to know. Thanks!

I have not purchased a Class A from them (yet) but I did purchase a new TT from them a few years ago. I was very pleased with the sales experience.

Every RVer should go to Lazdays if only to look around and marvel at how big it is. It is definitely the Disney World of RV dealers. Quite impressive. They have a huge assortment of RVs and a staff that has the skills to fix just about anything that can go wrong. The Tampa store has over 100 service bays. Of course there can be some glitches in service, the same as at any dalership.

I bought two new DP's from them and I would go back for a third when the time comes.

I bought new from Lazy Days last March and I have no regrets. They were very professional, knew their product and there was no high pressure sales tactics. Their price was fair, just a little less than I could have purchased the same type of motorhome here in Texas. I would buy from there again. I made the mistake of just stopping by there on a trip my wife and I took. Others who bought there that we met called Lazy Days "The Hotel California". As in "you can check in you can and never leave". I guess you would have to stay there to understand the humor in that saying.

We just bought our HR Vacationer there, at the Tucson location. Most of the transaction was handled over the phone and online. After a bit of negotiating, we got close enough to my numbers and made the deal. In our case, we were downsizing from a used DP with tag axle to a new 2015 gas MH. We got a substantial amount of money back.

We'll be heading back to Tucson for Christmas and plan to have a few warranty things done. I'll know more about their service department after that.

So far, I'd say we're satisfied with the experience there and the new coach. It's funny. My wife really loves the smaller motorhome and we're not giving up much at all. I've found that it handles well, even with a moderate cross wind. The systems are simpler, but it does 95% of what we're used to.

Thanks again for all of the replies! LD sounds pretty good overall. I'll be down there just before Christmas. Who knows...maybe a Christmas present?

Was just at Lazy Days last month with my buddy who is shopping for a used Class A diesel pusher. They had a lot of nice units there; I thought they were kind of high priced and salesmen/supervisors really don't want to negotiate. However we were treated like VIPs the entire time we were there; free camping on-site, free meals, golf cart transportation, etc. If you want to see a LOT of product and prepared to settle with their bottom-line it's the place to go. Everyone there was very respectful, knowledgeable, and low-key.

I would suggest you not go by LD. We went by a few months ago and it ended up costing lots of $$$. You will find something you want and it will cost you.

We purchased when the snowbirds were returning home.. They were really busy and their service suffered because of being so busy. Because of their selection I would buy from them again

Rather confusing! Which side of the fence are you on! HMMMMMM, the top!

The least happy squawk the loudest in reviews and on these forums. Most happy folk go about their business and are less likely to give a review unless they are exceedingly happy.

Thanks for the replies, y'all! We tried to find reviews online and only found one. It made Lazydays sound like the worse place in the country to buy an RV! When you hear one very bad review you have to wonder about it.

As a follow up, I too agree with Peddler. Our used coach was brought back to them within 30 days and they fixed everything on our list and a bunch of stuff they found on their own. No, I'm not in any way connected to Lazydays. We've found them much closer in price when haggling than LaMesa. By the way, there are now four dealers within 3 miles of each other. Lazydays, RvOne, General RV! And Camping World (which they claim is the largest one in the world). Competition should be good.

We bought there in 2010. We knew in advance exactly what we were looking for (brand, floorplan, and options) and found it there in an online search. After talking to a salesguy, and getting more info and pics, we drove down from Chicago to inspect and buy. New used coach was waiting for us in the area they have for "moving from your old coach to your new one. All went well, then we spent a couple days in their campground just to make sure. highly recommend them.

If it is available, they have it on the lot for you to look at. They offer a lot of service and benefits to buyers and especially to diesel pusher buyers. I too was not able to make a deal with them when I was shopping. They were way high and would not come down, bought elsewhere.

Service is another issue we have been there a couple of times for service and were not real pleased. I ordered a new shower door from Tiffin under warranty for delivery to LD for installation there. They told me it was not needed and they could fix. They did, it held up less than a month. Finally got to Red Bay and had the new door installed. that was over a month ago and it is fine. Oh, the installation took less than 2 hours in Express Bay.

Shop there, know what you should have to pay, if they get close you could consider buying from them. If not drive on down the road. There are plenty of dealers looking for your business.
