Stealth camping (xplorer?)

Got a simple quick question here.
Do you all think that the Dodge Xplorer would pass for a stealth camper van? Or is it just way too obvious by looking at it that it is an RV?

I'm keepin my fingers crossed and eyes peeled for something as spacious as possible but can still pass under a stealthy radar.

I'm so used to keeping my eye's peeled for camper vans that I've no idea what cops and most people would assume is a camper van.
What do you think?

It's very important to me, and why I went with an RT-170 with a regular passenger vehicle plate/registration.

- I live in the greater NYC area and there're many parkways that do not allow "RVs"
- My neighborhood's HOA is a somewhat grey on RVs in driveways, being as discrete as possible hasn't raised any complaints
- The Eastcoast has some very nice oceanfront attractions, but of course, it can be tight, crowded, and often with RV-restricted lots... I've watched other class B's be turned away while they've waved me through (I'm just talking about day parking).
- I use my B as a second (third) car quite often... it just makes ME feel better looking a little less RV.

Course YMMV ๐Ÿ™‚

The NYC area? OK, now I understand why you want to be as unobtrusive as possible.I would, too. Good luck in your search.

I wonder why having a โ€œstealthโ€ camper is even an important issue. The only reason I can think of is to park on a city street and I donโ€™t know why anyone would want to do that. But I have a real dislike for cities and perhaps my bias in coming through. Many people overnight in Walmart parking lots or truck stops in cities and there are other options, too, including free campgrounds. I agree with Francescaโ€™s post, get what you want and park where you can, youโ€™ll have plenty of options.

Buy whatever you want and save yourself the anxiety of hiding by parking it where you have the property owner's permission or on any public place where it's legal to do so.

FWIW, I think RT's window blackout option makes a big difference in making the RV look like a conversion passenger van. The awning and TV antenna delete option would also help a lot (I rarely use them anyway), and I've even considered magnetic sheets, painted silver, to cover the outside accessory vents when not in use.

To me, the dodge Xplorer looks like a RV.

If you really want an under the radar stealth camper, get a plain white work van and convert it to you needs.

You see white work vans everywhere and no one looks at them twice. JMO

I googled dodge xplorer-found several different models so we need more info.

sportsmobiles are the most stealthy.

roadtrek models 170,190,ranger next most stealthy.especially if decals removed.
