I have a 2003 National Tradewinds on a Spartan chassis. I had it at my RV service man for a week or more to have a TV problems corrected as well as a stool problem repaired. When I picked it up this afternoon (his shop in out in the country)I pulled out of his driveway I pulled to the left to swing wide and I thought the steering felt strange. Then I made a right turn and everything was OK. I started a left turn a couple miles down the road and it eased to the left but wouldn't turn left. Felt like it had no power steering. I tried this on a couple other turns and it was the same. Finally on the fourth turn it made the turn like old times and had no problem after that. I called my repairman to see if he had noticed anything. He called me back and said to check about nine feet behind the right rear wheels, he said he went back to where it was parked and saw an oil spot. I crawled under the motor home and noticed two hoses toward the top of the motor just in font of the radiator and they were oil soaked. Does anyone know if the steering on the Spartan Chases is Hydraulic. Has anyone else had this problem and why just to the left and not to the right. My repairman only works on the box and not the mechanical part. Glad it happened today rather than next Monday while I was on my way to an outing up in the foothills with our RV club.
