Tape covering joints on outside of MH

I have a 2000 Harney Riata. It is made with the bottom half of the coach made first and set on the chassis. Then the top half was made and set on top of the bottom half. There is a joint where they come together and there is a 1/2 inch wide white plastic type tape covering this joint all the way around the motor home. I would like to replace a 12 foot run of this tape but I don't know what it is called, or what to order. I asked Camping world what it was called but they were not much help. Can anyone tell me what the official name of this is so if I ask someone they will know what I am talking about? Thanks for all replies. Gary

Okay Gary here is the list of surplus and salvage places that "may" have what you're looking for. As I said in my PM, I'd go with the aluminum channel and a vinyl insert painted to match your rig.

Cr7p, no way for me to attach, I have it as a PDF but not on a site, just in my computer.

Anybody help?

Okay I finally got a photo posted. Now I need David to look through his files and see if he knows what they do call this. This tape was peeled back about 2 feet by me to allow me to put adhesive in a crack and close it up. Thanks again.

Well I guess I didn't do something right as it said something about using the toolbar to correct something, but I don't know what tool bar they are talking--so much for that operation. But I did find some tape by googling what David said so I will order some of that and see if that is it. Thanks for everybodys help. Gary

I think D.E. Bishop has the correct idea. I took a couple of pictures, but the older I get the more complicated stuff gets. I'm trying to figure out how to get those pictures on here. Thanks David.

Thanks to all that answered. It is not Eternabond, nor does it fit in a track it just appears to be a 1/2 inch wide tape and must have some type of adhesive on the back. I will try to take a picture of it and put it one here as suggested. Again, Thanks a lot.

It sound to me like he was saying TAPR, not aluminum channel with a vinyl insert. I'd bet it is just like the decals on most RVs. I'l lookin my catalogs when I have time this evening.

I doubt what is there is Eternabond. Not saying you couldn't go to that. If you can share a photo many of us on here would be happy to try to source the product for you.

I would use a waterproof duct tape available almost anywhere if you are referring to the plastic tape (looks like shipping tape). Before doing that, I would caulk the seam and then apply tape after curing.
I am referring to frame to body seals not visibly seen.

I agree with donkeydew, you probably are referring to a vinyl trim insert that covers screw heads.

I was also thinking Eternabond but, if it's only 1/2 inch wide it will take some careful cutting. 2 inch is the smallest size available.

Maybe they do special orders?
