Looking into buying an aftermarket Tire Pressure Monitoring System for our motorhome. There are many different brands. I have no clue which one to buy. Is any one brand better than the other? I need it to monitor the coach and the toad.. Thanks

There have been a lot of good threads about the different TPMS system. Search the forums and you should be able to find them. I have TireMinder and I think it is a good system.

I have tried TST and Pressure Pro. I prefer Pressure Pro. I thought removable batteries was a good idea until trying to change them. For me I found it hard to change the batteries due to tiny screws. I also like Pressure Pro control panel better.

I have a TST flow through with replaceable batteries. It works pretty well and it is accurate. TST is awesome to deal with and will stand behind any issues without question. I did have 2 issues - one was that when it rained one sensor would drop the signal. It usually resumed in about 10 miles. The second is that 2 of my sensors have to be removed to air up the tires. They work fine as a sensor but sort of mitigates the pass through/air up which is one reason I bought that unit. I could send them back for a replacement for free, but the hassle of re-programming new ones is worse than simply taking them off to air up. Other than that they work very well and alerted me to a slow leak I had due to a failed valve extender. That saved me a few hundred on a tire (and lord knows what else if it completely blew)so I consider it a good investment. Whatever you choose - tpms is a good idea and I won't have a MH without it.

The problem with a TPMS is usually faulty set-up bu the owner and not the TPMS itself. If the coach was weighed and the tire charts say that you should be using 95psi MINIMUM in the tire, as an example, then the TPMS should be set higher. From reading the various posts on this forum, that 95 psi is what most people set their TPMS for. This means that the tire has to lose 10% or so before the alarm is sent. Who knows what damage is done to that tire when driving for xx miles with the tire under-inflated until air is added to bring it up to the MINIMUM required air pressure of 95psi. The same goes for ONE dual going under-inflated and causing damage to both tires. Others have said that they do not add air when the TPMS sounds an alarm when the tire was cold in the morning because after they get on the road, the tire will warm up and the pressure will increase.For the TPMS to have any use at all, it needs to sound an alarm when the tire gets to the 95psi MINIMUM, and NOT 10% below 95psi. This means that you have to inflate your tires for a certain amount over 95psi, when the tire is cold before you have driven on it, to properly monitor and protect your tires. Then, when the tire pressure drops to 95psi, you will be warned to add air BEFORE damage is done. Any warning after it has dropped below the MINIMUM of 95psi is too late.

I have a TST 507 system and am very satisfied with it. I did not get the pass-thru sensors, opting for the standard sensors instead. The user replaceable batteries last about year, and only cost around $0.50 each. I previously had a TST 510 system with non-user replaceable batteries, and that one also worked well. When the sensors finally started failing at around 6 years, TST offered me a great deal on replacing it with the 507 system rather than having the 510 sensors updated. Super customer service!

I have the TST 507 with the valve cap sensors and the temp is highly accurate.. When the sun is shining on one side the tires on that side reads warmer and the pressure is a couple degrees higher... Same when there is a crown to the road.. The tires read warmer on the lower side as there is more weight on that side... I think the temp feature is the most important part of the system...

I'm in the middle of my first trip with the TST 507 and it's working well. I did end up adding the repeater, as I was getting intermittent readings from my rear inner duals.

I am getting proper temps from each tire. I think the difference is that I went with the internal wheel sensors, not the external valve stems.

I have found the temperature function of no use. When towing my 5 th wheel I get the same temperature within about 10 degrees on all tires. Also the temperatures are always about 10 degrees above ambient.

This is not a surprise to me as the temperature device is in the sensor flying around in the wind at 50-65 mph. Thus I would expect the temperature reported would be closer to ambient than internal temperature of the tire.

I have had the TST 507 system for three years now and just changed the batteries for the first time.. It has been a great system and I like that it gives me the tire temp.. Pressure has been spot on to my expensive Milton truck type inflation gauge... Also many large trucking companies are going to the TST system which means they will be around for a while...Also don't order a repeater until you try it without it... I didn't need one and most do not..

Ditto went with TST 507.. Considered EEZRV, Pressure Pro also. Ditto on the good deal from Amazon on 10 sensor system. Hoping I don't need a repeater..

I removed all those anti-theif caps and left them off. In six years since doing that not one sensor has been stolen. It's much easier now to add air to a tire. When it's time to replace batteries I just unscrew the sensor cap.

I just bought the TST 507 after much research. The EEZRV looked good as well, but I felt the reviews for the TST were not only very positive, but I found a lot of them. Got a smoking deal on Amazon!

I'm about a month ahead of you... My factory TPMS died the past April on our trip to Utah, and sure enough we had a blowout due to a failed valve stem.

After a ton of research here and elsewhere I decided to go with the TST 507, but chose the internal sensors on the valve stems (inside the tire), rather than external ones. It'll require having the tires dismounted and remounted, but I'm having that done next week anyway.

I didn't want to deal with sensors on the outside of the valve stems on the rear-inner-duals. With my wheels, I have a hard enough time getting the, aired up as it is. I had valve extenders on a previous coach, and they gave me nothing but trouble. So I'm going with the internal sensors.
