Have you had the TV replaced in your motor home and if so are you pleased. My repairman said the one over the windshield is so heavy that when he replaces it with a flat panel it should increase my milage by 2 mpg..:W

Factory replaced ours. Wasn't cheap. The old one weighed probably 5 ls or more. Every little bump or vibration would start it noisely flexing around the overhead. We were afraid it would come out on top of us.

Last night I started removing my 13" CRT TV so I could replace it with a 22" flat screen. Today I finished the project.

How to replace a TV that is on a lift up on dog house?

I replaced my 25" Pansonic tube TV earlier this year with a 32" LED TV. The tube TV weighed about 50 lbs and the LED one is only 9 lbs. I think I can claim a 1 MPG improvement. ๐Ÿ™‚

Got my motor home back today. 32 inch over windshield. He did a fantastic job. Also installed a Blue Ray DvD player under the TV. It is beautiful, can't wait to use it. We are going to Pismo Beach Sunday, what a beautiful place to get away from it all.

If I knew how to post pictures I'd post one of the TV here.

Thanks for the link to your install! I finally have seen a method that works for me. Off to Best Buy or Costco. I'll post pics of the install after I'm done.

Here's mine:

went from a 27" CRT to 50" LED LCD.

And no, we don't bump our heads and it doesn't block our view when driving. Best modification I ever made!

Here's the thread on how I installed it

Took the motorhome to my RV man yesterday for TV replacement. Told him I needed it completed by today. For some reason he laughed at me, wonder why? :h

Thank you all for your input. Yes, my repairman was only joking about increasing my milage and no, I won't replace it myself it probably weighs almost as much as me.:B

I just replaced my old analog LCD Sony with a visio LED. I get more stations from different city's than the LED in the house with a tower antenna. Best of all I got rid of that dumb converter box. Mounting the TV was the easy part, the hard part is replacing the cherry wood bezel around the front of the TV. Had to order cherry wood because no one around here stocked it. Had to make the bezel, route it to match the existing cabinets and now in the staining process to match existing cabinet color. Getting close to finishing it, maybe by next weekend.

You need a new repair man if he believes that.

I just replaced the 32" analog TV above the drivers seat. It is, IMHO, a silly place to put a TV as there are no seats that actually face the TV. I mounted the new 32" LED low on the wall across from the sofa, so we can actually sit on the coach, facing forward, and watch TV. The old TV enclosure? I put doors on it. Now we call it a cabinet.
