No way. Really? That is completely bizarre. I know people can be nuts but that would take the cake. - 427435ExplorerVery strange deal. The news last night said the guy that rented the RV to the guys told them not to open that storage compartment. This will be an interesting thing to follow.
As to confiscating the RV and its contents, that's simple------------it WAS a crime scene. - OhhWellExplorer

Maybe he crawled in to get out of the cold and found out he couldn't get back out. Always keep those compartments locked.
Well, if that is the case, he must have been pretty close to death anyway. I haven't seen an RV compartment yet that could hold me in if I was motivated to get out. Most Human's legs are plenty strong enough to pop those little latches.
You never know though I guess. Sounds more like foul play to me.
Dennis, inconstancies in their stories? Maybe Jimmy said they had no idea until they opened it and another said that jimmy force fed him rat poison and stuffed him in the storage bay? - rgatijnet1Explorer III

On the news last night they said it was a rented RV. They weren't far from home, so I'm sure they were able to get transportation. The dead person has been missing for several months.
I wonder if the dead body will be mentioned when that RV goes up for sale? :B - jhilleyExplorerOn the news last night they said it was a rented RV. They weren't far from home, so I'm sure they were able to get transportation. The dead person has been missing for several months.

The article said: "The group called authorities, who confiscated their luggage and the RV after interviewing the men".
No good deed goes unpunished. Why was all their belongings and their shelter taken? Now they have no clothes, no transportation and no place to sleep. Think of the message that this sends to those that try to do the right thing. I'll remember this if confronted with the same decision. It is a shame.
Many years ago, while sailing in the Gulf of Mexico, I encountered a floating body. I immediately called the Coast Guard on my radio. I was asked to bring it aboard and take it to them. This body was very ripe and appeared very fragile so I declined. Then I was asked to stay with it until they got there as it was very difficult to locate a body. I had to wait 5 hours for a cutter to arrive and I'll swear I could smell that odor until the day I sold the boat. Lesson: I see NOTHING and if I do see something I call NO ONE. (That's probably not true, but I would have to talk to myself to do it again) - BobRExplorer

I'm sure there's more to this story than what's been presented. Funny how some jump to conclusions that the LEOs were somehow overhanded and the 'men' were so innocent. Maybe there were inconsistencies in their stories sufficient to warrant further investigation, which would indicate why their belongings were seized. The coroner would have been called and any evidence of foul play would begin a homicide investigation resulting in complete lockdown of any possible evidence and/or crime scene.....Dennis
There is the possibility it is a crime scene. I am sure we all would want a thorough investigation if one of our loved ones were the victim. - Executive45Explorer III
