vent fan covers

I am in the process of purchasing a new class A MH. I asked the dealer to install vent fan covers over the vent fans. I was told that one could not be done because there was not enough room. Would not fit between the AC unit and the awning. Has anyone else ever experienced this? I would think manufactures would realize that people want these covers and allow enough space.

I've never seen one that couldn't take a vent cover cover. There are different sizes. If for some reason they can't fit any vent covers over it, I'm not sure how on earth you would get a fantastic fan on there but they are nice to have.

I personally would go up on the roof myself and have a looksee. I know there is no RV sales professional that would ever tell an untruth to get out of something.....

Our kids both have the same Cougar TT and a vent cover won't fit on the rear bathroom vent. I thought my kids were crazy until I looked myself. It just didn't fit because of the placement of the A/C.

Put in a Fantastic Vent with a rain sensor.

They are better fans than anything the manufacturer puts in anyway.

All three of our vents are Fantastic Vents, but we only have a cover on the one over the bed since we often want that open even if it is raining. The other two have rain sensors and close automatically, sometimes for a heavy dew.

Welcome to RV.net!
I would say they didn't try very hard.
Some covers are different in size. A different make of cover may fit.
What is make and model of your new rig? Someone here may have same rig and know.

Like the old guy said....bathroom vent in our shower is real close to side of rig. Vent cover just fits.

But if not enough room then not enough room.....fore go that cover.

RV MFG. are not concerned about aftermarket products or installation of them.

They are interested in production of the unit and solving production problems/concerns that hinder production.
There are only just so many ways to turn a shoebox and try to incorporate the 'bling' that attracts buyers

I have had many TT's and each one had plenty of room to install the big covers and the only one I could think of that would be too near the edge would be the one over the bath room.

All of my vents have the extra covers on them and I think that they help. They are a little wider than the vents due to the mounting hardware so it might be possible that it might not fit that one. I like being able to keep the vents open when it is raining, I have never had any rain come in or blow in. I have never had any problems with mine even in severe wind. JMT

I honestly have not seen a vent without a vent cover???? Does rain come in?
4 whopping cylinders on Toyota RV's. Talk about great getting good MPG. Also I have a very light foot on the pedal. I followed some MPG advice on Livingpress.com and I now get 22 MPG! Not bad for a home on wheels.
