Very curious

Edit: please reply to this thread if you travel in a MOTORHOME only.

I've been curious about this for years. When reading reviews of campgrounds/RV parks very frequently I've seen comments about the cleanliness or lack of cleanliness of a CG restrooms and showers posted by reviewers who state they travel in a motorhome. All motorhomes I've seen have their own bathrooms. In the ten years I've camped in a fifth wheel I've only used a CG restroom once... And that was because we had reservations for dinner, and only half an hour for our family of four to get ready.

So can anyone tell me do those with motorhomes really use the CG restrooms? If so, why? I'm honestly curious about this.

Generally use my own bathroom and shower. All my stuff is there and I like my shower. One rare exception is if I'm dry camping long enough to be at or beyond the capacity of the tanks and it is inconvenient to dump or fill. I will then offload some of the bathroom/shower duty to the campground facilities.

I never use them. I take Hobo baths, you know, dump a can of baby powder down your shirt and jump up and down.I'm wondering why it's hotter in the Choir loft tho. Can't be nearer to heaven as we all know.

I need to modify my position: NOrmally I use campground showers if they exist (Some times I have no choice but to use my own) But right now I'm in Townsend, GA. thanks to my daughter's impending visit to the maternity ward at a local hospital (Should happen long about next week) and the heat and humidity is .. MURDER on this old farm boy.. SO rather than walk all the way over in the humid hot, I shower in the nice air conditioned RV.. Normally the main bath is packed kind of full of stuff, but like this AM.. I showered and shaved then it's only a few steps to the car and fired up the A/C there so I was not (yet) all sweaty when I got to the air conditioned church.. Did get kind of warm in the choir loft though. (We singers get nearer to God don't you know when the meeting hall has a Loft).

(Nice to be able to walk into a church and be welcomed among friends,, I sang here when my daughter got married in 2011 so now that I'm back most of them remember me)

It depends. We use the campground showers most of the time because there is more room and we can take longer showers. We can also both shower at the same time.

when I was traveling with my parents in their MH, I used the CG bathhouse to give each of us more privacy. As an adult used to living in a 1300 sq ft house, and my parents in a 2000 sq ft house, the MH got real close real quick. I was able to shower and spend a few minutes without someone else waiting on me. I use my TT bathroom when I am traveling in it, but when I was helping them travel in MH, I was happier using the CG showers.

I do not think you should try to determine a conclusion from the fact that a motorhome occupant rates the facilities at the rv park or campground.

They may observe and comment, but never use the, laundry, showers or toilets or, then again, maybe they do?

I have done both depending on a variety of factors.

If I have commented on the facility status it was either because I was impressed or not impressed.

Hopefully, that helps those who are looking for info on the RV Park review site.

For a weekend or even long weekend:

Full hook ups, we all use the MH.
Water no sewer, I will alternate and the other three MH.
Fresh water tank, me DS will use the bath house wife and DD use MH. Of course by the last day, we all use the bath house.

More than a long weekend, we have full hook ups or don't even try it. I will still use bath house when in a hurry.

We use the shower in our MH unless we are staying at a campground that does not have full hookups for more than a week.

I use my MH's conveniences for everything and so does the DW. The kids, however, may get pushed to the public showers! That is only because we may be in a hurry and need to shower quickly. But when push comes to shove, the kids be hikin it to the showers not us.

I use both, DW only uses the RV. We have AquaHot so we can shower as long as we please. The reason I use the CG shower is I like the hot tub/spa/jacuzzi. When I'm done, I go in and shower to wash off the chlorine/pee/gunk that's in the water. Once I'm clean, I can walk back to the coach and sleep like a baby...a clean fresh baby. Now if you see my hat hanging on the outside door handle, please don't knock.....:W:W.......Dennis

We almost always use the bathhouse for showering, using the restroom is another story.

Our shower is barely large enough to turn around in without hitting the walls, let allow trying to lather up and such. Add to that a 6 gallon water heater, and you have a much more pleasant experience in the shower houses.

To avoid the athlete's foot issue (and any other fungus) we have a supply of shower shoes for everyone in the family, plus an assortment of various sized extras for guests or if the kids have friends with them.

A long hot shower feels really good after a day of exploring, hiking, bike riding, swimming, a campfire, and/or anything else that we might be enjoying during the day of camping.

I can't figure out why the overwhelming majority of reviewers on another RV Park reviews forum who rate the comfort stations/bath house camp in motorhomes.
It's probably because more people own MHs.

If the number of posts on this forum are any indication, more people own MH's than any other RV.
