What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

I see the other types of RV's having this type of thread. I did a search and could not find one here. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday, I drove mine to work to "excercise" it. I have driven it to work twice in the two weeks I have owned it.

In the two years I owned my Class C, I drove it to work ZERO times. :E

I got the Air Conditioner recharged. Mine is a 1990 and did not know it had been converted to R-134. It is less expensive. Ended up being $85 dollars after the misc fees etc. I am happy as I went all last year without dash AC.

I also went to go get my oil changed for the first time since Nov. 2010. They said since it only had 1500 miles since the last oil change that it does not need it even though it had been 16 months. I appreciated their honesty and left without paying a thing. They did top the oil off and said it is still clean. Me is happy and saved about 40 bucks! ๐Ÿ™‚ (I know everyone has their opinion about this...)

Yep, everyone has their own opinion. If you are using dino-oil, then I'd change it every 12 months, regardless. If fully synthetic, let it ride...

Got it out of storage and brought it home. Finished installing new curtains and started provisioning for our first trip of the year. Today will fill the inside fresh water tank, get the antifreeze out of the lines and then fill the water heater. Afterwards will test all systems to see that we're ready to go this Saturday.

Errol, a couple of suggestions about the generator, if you plan on not running it for a while, you could put a fuel cut off in, and run it try. Also, a little Seafoam in the carb. every so often, sure won't hurt anything.
Hope you have a great Roadtreking season.

I do miss sometimes not having something to do to the Rt. but I still have the memories. ๐Ÿ™‚

Unfortunately, unless the cutoff is a remote control one, that will be next to impossible. I don't foresee crawling under the van and cutting off a manual cutoff switch inside the Onan.

And AFAIK, to install one on the Onan now, it would have to be dropped again, and hopefully that is not going to have to happen for quite some time.

That said, I'll have to remember to put Seafoam or Stabil in the Van's fuel tank, mix it up, and then run the genny for a while to get the mixed gas in the genny.

I use the RT into December every year. This year I used it go 2000k miles down to New Orleans & the Sugar Bowl New Year's weekend.

Spent $865 to remove, repair, and replace the Onan generator. The muffler broke off of it back in the fall. So the Onan needed to be removed and a new muffler installed. And since it was off the Roady, I figured a general tuneup should be performed, so the spark plus and air filter were changed, plus I had the oil changed. I was going to have to do it, but I figured the RV guy could do it since it was off the RT.

Then I was told the carb was bad, so a new one of those was installed.

The genney has 553 hours on it. I try to exercise it regularily, but must have missed a few times which helped clog the carb.

In any case, it runs like a top now.

I cleaned it up for the FIRSTtime. Just bought my Coachmen. I started with the windows, getting the used car dealer writing off the windshield. Removed his sticker. I'll give it the first short (60 mile) drive tomorrow.

I'm looking for a generator to run the unit including A/C.

Looking forward to enjoying this forum.

Take care,

Rick

Cleared the remaining snow from the last storm. Started the Onan and ran it for 1 hr with the electric heater. Topped up the engine battery with a battery charger. Visual inspection, everythings looks good. Spring is in the air!

Big change in the Roadtrek today. I switched the direction the refrigerator door opens! The things we find to do in our RV waiting for the Spring to finally arrive.
