What Did You Do To Your Class B Today ?

I see the other types of RV's having this type of thread. I did a search and could not find one here. ๐Ÿ™‚

Yesterday, I drove mine to work to "excercise" it. I have driven it to work twice in the two weeks I have owned it.

In the two years I owned my Class C, I drove it to work ZERO times. :E

What a great idea! One of those "Why Didn't I Think Of That" things.

It finally got warm enough today (above freezing) to fiddle around with our new B. So spent time lining drawers, removing new stuff labels, clean coffee pot, setup refrigerator and microwave, etc. We'll start putting stuff in that we removed from our old B.

One important thing we did. We ran the propane furnace. Sure enough it set off the smoke alarm. We knew it would from experience. Better now than in a campground somewhere. After about an hour all the newness, oil, coatings and stuff burned off and the alarm quit going off.

Had the transmission and differential flushed at 80,000 kms, in preparation for our, coming soon, departure for home.

Complete cleaning tomorrow, then loading slowly to get everything in.

Have to face the fact that we will have to return to the cold country and be miserable until summer comes.

I read on a forum somewhere, were some one hooked up a sprinkler system and put it under their RV to wash the under belly. Sounded like a good idea and we plan to do that when the weather gets just a little bit warmer.

A thought since you just came back from DVNP, do you think washing the undercarriage fo the van would be a good idea? I would suspect there is a fair amount of salt picked up from driving around on the floor of Death Valley?

Just what I needed.
I came in the house feeling good that I got the oil and filter changed in the Van and Gen (whether it needed it or not) and what do I find. One more thing to add to my "Do I Need To Do ?" list.:)

As usual though I did roll around on the old creeper while I was under there and look at everything. Didn't notice any fresh rust.
Haven't seen any sign's of corrosion from last years trip either.
And I do look it over (and under) pretty good after every trip.
Shocks, springs, nuts and bolts, tanks, brake lines, and everything else.

Been home a week from a trip to Death Valley and the Mojave Desert and finally started cleaning the van. A lot of wind and a lot of sand.

Took out the screens and curtains on the windows that open so I could get all the sand out. Got the bedding all cleaned (our's and the dog's) and the van vacuumed.

The wind was blowing sand everywhere, so even though I changed the oil and filter in the van and gen before we went I am going to do it again this weekend. And clean and reoil the air filter. (Might not need it but I will feel better if I do it.)

Changed oil in the Genny. I change it once a year, in March.

The oil coming out was still clean looking.

Since I don't put an excessive number of hours on it in a year's time, and since I change it once a year, I just use SuperTech (Walmart) HD30 weight oil.

Picked up our "Roada" after having the hood repainted from chipping paint. The place that did the work, took care of the "little" fixes. In a few weeks, we'll be taking her back to get detailed for our trip to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Brice Canyon and everything in between.

Took it camping over the weekend. This week, probably replace the house battery and/or alternator. Probably just the battery. Maybe add another battery or two to the house system.

Drove for 2 hours to CT Foxwoods Resort and Casino in our RT. We ran the genny & furnace a few times to keep the "LandYacht" warm. All systems worked fine. This trip allowed me to refresh the gas and give the batteries a good charge after hibernation of winter for the RT. We won enough cash to buy a fancy dinner, breakfast buffet in the morning and a refill of the fuel tank. (We never win so this is unusual). :B

There were quite a few other RV's at the designated parking area at the resort.

I took our new 2011 Great West Van Sprinter Legend on a test run of 360 miles round trip to La Crosse, WI Thursday and back today. My first impression compared to our 2005 Sprinter Pleasure-Way is the ride is much smoother and quieter. At highway speeds it feels more auto like and you don't feel like you are pushing the limits at 70 mph on the freeway. In other words it is also like an auto where you don't perceive going as fast as you are going. Handling is very positive. The steering wheel is less van like and more auto like yet you still sit very upright and high. There is no diesel rattling sound on acceleration like the old Sprinter. In quieter you can actually listen to your radio without having to turn it up. The stock radio and speakers are probably better quality. I think the overall MPG is going to be in the 3-4 MPG less. With a new engine starting out at 140 miles total I averaged about 18 MPG vs. my old 22.5 MPG. If history repeats with break in it will probably push 20 MPG. All in all I am very happy with it. Just have to remember it is not a coupe and I am still pushing 4 tons of 22'-9" down the highway. ๐Ÿ™‚

On your first outing did you also sleep in it? Or just take it for a nice ride?
