This is always a fun thread to watch in other forums, so I thought I'd start one here.

A word of caution abt storing it in a field,, Florida is full of field mice ((I know cus I live in P-cola)) and a field mouse can and will do a lot of damage to your wiring and the insulation in the walls as well as any other thing they can chew up..When you go to the dealer make sure you have all the manuals and maint. books for the unit...take notes and a lot of pics....

We brought it home from the horse pasture where it's stored and my hubby washed it - it was filthy! I loaded lots more stuff in it. We ran the generator. I located the inverter, the converter, the water heater, the water pump, etc. I want to be somewhat informed when I go for MY orientation on it (since my husband didn't pay attention when he picked the thing up!). LOL :B

Runs good, I still have a small Exhaust leak, I'm not going to try and fix the leak, Just going to remove the exhaust and add headers Then re-finish the exhaust.

Have you looked on ebay yet? Also my manual mentions a fuel filter. Have you checked that yet? A clogged filter would give the problems you descibe also.

We drove the Freelander into the US (its first trip across the border)to attend the big RV show in Seattle. Wound up "camping" overnight in the Qwest Field parking lot and had a reasonably restful night.

The show was HUGE - biggest in Washington State. Literally hundreds of RV's of all kinds ... and I still love my Coachmen!

I reminded myself to call the shop when it's a bit warmer and have the roof checked.

i repaired one of the awning lift handles. for some reason the pin would not retract enough to release the slide, so i removed the handle mechanism, made and installed a shim plate inside the handle assembly, and reinstalled it with stainless hardware. works fine now. happy camper!

also started making a replacement console/table for the pitiful ford-supplied console mounted to the doghouse. you would think that winnebago would scrap that thing in favor of something useful, but nooOOOoo!

We took her back to storage after our trip last weekend completely covered in brown dust. The washboard and rutted AZ dirt roads are challenging. We lost 3 lugnuts and covers and had to remove the decorative wheel covers to keep from losing them or tearing off the tire valve extensions. Last fall we bought new tires, that was only 2 trips ago. Should have checked to see that the lug nuts were all tight enough. Now I have to find replacements. But that awful road led to a great camping spot! This was the view of the Verde River outside our door.

And from the riverbed looking up to the campsite!

Was going to start the old girl up and let her run but she just would not run, I got to looking and found where I had added a fuel filter at the rear next to the gas tank and found where I put the filter on the wrong way, The fuel flow arrow was pointed the wrong way and it collapsed the filter, Lesson learned This is what happens when you get in a big hurry when working on something, (Save time by taking your time):S

Drove it to Wally World and did some shopping. Filled it with gas at USA station and brought it home. Covered the tires and covered it. Rain and snow start again tonight for the next few weeks.. Our couple weeks of warmer weather let us get a lot done.. Next time we uncover it we are going camping.. Now where the heck did I put that snow shovel????

Ran the old girl for 20 mins, that's about it.....Then I worked on my 06 Ram, 150kms as one of the bearings in the alternator self destructed....Thankfully I was able to save the alternator but I am dissapointed in Bosch....chinese bearings and overall a very cheaply made unit...
