What is the fuel economy, or UNeconomy, on a "C".

We were looking at some Winnebago Class "C" units, the F-350 and I think a couple had F-450's.....What is the Cu In and roughly what would the gas mileage be? I had the impression they were all gas, not diesel.

It's almost impossible to get an accurate mpg reading on my "C", it is very hard to gas up to full each time. Best advice is drive 55-60, and stop worrying about gas mileage .
RVing is expensive period.

FWIW, I budget for about 40 cents per mile when traveling in our Ford V10 based RV. i.e. A 2000 mile trip sets us back around $800 for gas.

Mpg varies a lot with terrain,(mountain grades vs flatlands), headwinds, and altitude as well as speed vs aerodynamic drag and rolling resistance. We get 7-9mpg with our 27 foot rig. If you can't afford fuel and all of the other costs of ownership and maintenance, motorhoming is not for you.

LOL I agree gas is the cheapest part of owning an RV. Two nights in our RV instead of a hotel and restaurant easily makes up for all the gas used on a week long RV vacation.

We went to DC for a week. We paid $350 gas total. One night in a hotel in DC is easily $200.

Put a good scan Gage to it Mine says 7.5 Not fuzzy math that way. You never know exact a mount of gas in take at fill up every time. And again if you worry about MPG this type of camping is not for you. Just fill it and enjoy it forget about this nonsense.

:S Rough rule of thumb if you have a 30 gallon tank you can pass 30 gas stations before refuling if you have 40 gsllon you can pass 40 and if you have a 50 gallon you can make it to the 50th station.

Being that you are in Northern California you have mountains to contend with much like here in Washington State 8 to 10 would be good. I have a 26' Class C with the 8.1 Vortec running about 11,500 weight. I get 8.8 to 9.5 depending on where I go and how fast I drive. I would think that if you get 8 to 10 you should be happy. I plan on 9 and the difference between 8 and 9 on the 5200 mile trip we have planned this summer is about 57 gallons of gas or just 1 tank. I can live with that.

New 28ft V10 and we get between 8 and 9 mpg depending on wind. We weigh in at 12000lbs. We have a toad but haven't towed the toad yet. We keep it 62 mph.

So far on a month long trip pulling a dinghy it's been a low of 12 MPG and a high of 15+. Hills and aerodynamics affect it a lot. In states where I can only do 55 I get better mileage. Here in Utah driving on the freeway at 48 (as one poster is) would be dangerous. There are 80 MPH speed limits here. That would be a 30MPH delta in speed. I'm doing 65 and still going slowly relatively speaking.
