What tires should I go with next?

I'm searching for new tires for my 4X4 Phoenix Cruiser. Right now I have 245/75/17 Bridgestone tires on Alcoa alloys. I'd like to go bigger and slightly more aggressive. Although we obviously do the usual highway travelling, we also spend a great deal of time in the sand when we are at the shore. I know that I might have a bit of a different rig then some others, but if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I'm going to look into those. I may go with a 285/70/17 tire next as well.

Aggressive tires on sand is not really a good combination. Aggressive tires want to dig down into the sand, not float on top, which is what you need. Most people who ride on sand regularly either have very fat tires or they lower the PSI to increase the foot print of the tire. With the dual tires in the rear, you can't air them down too low or they will rub.

BFG A/T KOs do very well on sand, but I don't know if they have a Load Range E in your size or how they would do on a motorhome.

If you have room, check out the Michelin 22570R19.5 XRV tire.
It is a standard highway tread and designed for normal RV use.
I have have them on my small class A MH and love them.
In fact, this is the second set, replaced the first when they
were 10 years old; still looked good.

I put brand new Michelin's on my MH. It changed the handling of the MH big time and not for the better. 😞

Reason? The tread was too aggressive. The outer tread was flexing and causing the front end problem. You could take two fingers and flex that outer tread. Changed the way my MH handled.

Aggressive tires on a 4x4 car or truck is one thing. Put them on something as heavy as a MH and it screws up the front handling.

That is why the outer tread on semi's is actually flat so it doesn't affect the front handling.

I know you have a 4x4 and want to do off road stuff but you still have to drive on a road to get there! Put too aggressive of a tire on and you will be all over the road.

I've heard on the forum that they do make an RV tire that has a different outer tread. I think called steering tires?? Maybe someone can chime in and tell you which brand does.
