windshield wiper failure

The windshield wiper actuator arms on our 2007 Itasca Meridian diesel pusher (under the "hood") have on sometimes popped off when the wipers are on. This is usually under very windy conditions. I can open the access door and pop them back on, but it is not easy (and it is obviously raining). Tricot stopped making them so they cannot be replaced. Anyone have this problem and what do we do?

Try using rain-x latitude blades, because they have less wind resistance
they don't put as much strain on the motor

I think you are talking about the wiper arms that hold the wipers. These actuators are on the drive motor under the hood. They are loops that fit onto a ball joint. They can pop off the ball joint and then the wiper just falls. Trico doesn't make them anymore, and I would like to know how other people have handled this problem since I cannot be the only one having this problem.

It's Trico btw. Are the mounts splined or do they retain with spring clips. You can buy replacement arms in either style at Rock Auto online or your local auto parts emporium.
