3-2-1 Microwave Mug Cakes - super easy!!

3-2-1 Mug Cake - SUPER EASY....

Dry mix/stir together:

1 box of Angel Food cake mix & 1 box of ANY FLAVOR other cake mix (we like double chocolate). Makes a lot for future fun!

I was lazy and put both mixes into a lg. Tupperware pitcher and shook them up really good. That is then the base mix.

Place: 3 Tablespoons of the mixed up cake mixes into a microwave safe decent size mug.

Add: 2 Tablespoons of water - stir to mix. May add about 1 t. mini chips at this point.

Microwave: 1 minute

VOILLA!!! A cake in a mug that will satisfy any sweet tooth in no time at all! This will be in our camper supplies for EVER.

I had been feeling guilty about not having any treats per say in the camper. Hub gets a sweet tooth going at night. So, I saw this on Pinterest and tried it. IT WORKs VERY WELL! So, now I keep 2 soup mugs in the camper, and a bag of this mixed up. There's a herd of variations on it too. I served it with a drizzle of choc sauce over the cake, some FF whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. If you use apple cake, a drizzle of caramel sauce on it when it's warm, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The cake is not dense.. it's more Angel food cake-ish, but we love it. It is MUCHO better with a few chocolate chips tossed in the batter or some powdered unsweetened Ghirardelli cocoa to punch up the chocolate flavor. I didn't have mini's so I just chopped up a T. of reg. chocolate chips. Worked fine!

Now hub requests a 6-4- 1.5 cake. I use a lg mug, and double the recipe and nuke it for 1.5 min. It still comes out perfect. It does suggest you have a 1000 wt microwave. The microwave in our camper is small and it works just as well as using the microwave in the house.

  • love love love this!!!! I have two little girls who are cupcake fanatics that will adore this!
  • There are several threads about this on here with lots of variations.
One variation I like is to put some chocolate chips in. They will sink to the bottom and give a simulation of a molten lava cake.
  • Fun fun.. the sky is the limit with this.

On our last camping trip we were sitting around on a chilly morning with some friends. I nuked up a couple mugs of cakes, and the guys just inhaled them.

Can't wait to hear back from the cook!!
