Alfredo Sauce and Smoked Salmon

My son gave me this recipe that we really enjoyed. You can add shrimp, scallops whatever. Fast and easy.

1 jar of Alfredo Sauce or 4 cheese sauce (your favorite)
1 package of peppered smoked salmon (In the stores it's a chunk not thin slices). I used left over salmon we BBQ. and added pepper to taste.
1 pkg. pasta your choice.

Cook your pasta.
Heat up Alfredo Sauce. Half way I broke up the salmon and added it to sauce. I also added some fresh spinach to mine that I had on hand.
Pour sauce over pasta and serve.

If you use shrimp or scallops my son usually grills or browns them in a pan first then adds them.

Lots of great ideas. I have always added chicken and different veggies. Whenever I have made a pasta and seafood dish I always felt it lacking something. Looking forward to trying these combinations. Thks.

  • Your recipe sound good Super Dave. I'll have to try that one. Mine was great for leftover salmon which we normally don't have. Thanks Deb
  • That does sound interesting. I wish I could get my wife to tolerate fish, I like it but she hates even the smell if I cook it myself. Maybe I'll try the easy version sometime when camping alone.
  • Thanks for the recipes Debbie and SD. These will work nicely at the next DOG we attend. We're always looking for something a little different.
  • I haven't tried the short list version but really love this combination with the recipe below.

    Perfect Marinara:
    3 Tbsp olive oil
    6 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
28 oz. Crushed tomatoes, then puree yourself
    8 oz. tomato sauce
Fresh basil, 1 handful – torn
Healthy pinch of red pepper flakes
    Kosher salt to taste
Sautee garlic with pepper flakes for about 6 minutes, until golden.
Add crushed tomatoes, torn basil and salt.
Simmer for 20 – 25 minutes to reduce.

    Vodka Sauce:
    4 shallots finely chopped
    3 Tbsp butter
    1 ½ cup heavy cream
½ cup fresh grated parmesan cheese
    ¼ cup Vodka
Healthy pinch of red pepper flakes
    Kosher salt to taste

Sautee shallots in butter about 3 minutes and add the rest of the ingredients. Stir on medium heat until parmesan cheese is fully incorporated.
Mix both sauces together. Toss with cooked linguine noodles. There will be a fair amount of extra sauce leftover.

    Smoked Salmon:
1/4 lbs smoked salmon per intended servings.
Add crumbled salmon to noodle and sauce dish. Garnish with parmesan cheese or herbed feta and some chopped cilantro per serving.
