Luling City Market in Luling (!) TX for smoked meat
Sunset Grill in Port St. Joe, Florida
Grill 225 in Charleston, SC
Vic & Anthony's in Ewe-Stun, TX ($$$)
McCormick & Schmicks, also in Ewe-Stun (good experience at all Houston locations)
Wolf Lodge, near Couer d'Alene Idaho
Double Musky and Seven Glaciers ($$$) should one venture to Girdwood, Alaska
Crows Nest ($$$), Club Paris (although not aging gracefully),Carlos Mexican Restaurant (where some of the locals eat) and Kincaid Grille in Los Anchorage
....and I've always liked the ribs at the Sonny's BBQ locations in Florida.
